Unlocks

okay im new but how do you unlock things??? I saw people with different commander chasis like riot and I need someone to explain how to get them or if its mods. No I don't mean the Commander Add/edit thing I already know about that.

If you are talking about differently coloured chasis in multiplayer, look at "donate" section of this webpage.
Different color skins are the only unlockable thing in multiplayer, though. You can build all possible units, buildings, etc, every game. Only in the campaign you need to progress from planet to planet and slowly unlock everything, in singleplayer skirmish you once again dont have to unlock anything.

Oh, Niarteloc is right. Future wars, Zero wars, etc., are mods that have often different or very modified units (and commanders/heroes) altogether. You can select to play a specific mod if in multiplayer custom game click on that thing that says "Zero-K v1.xy or something like that and selecting another mod.
