If you do want to play shield bot you will need lots of energy i mean about 500-2k energy once in game. When you do start build About 3-10 solar panels, and connect the metal extractors with wind turbines. Then when in midgame build 1-2 fusion reactors, and still connect the metal extractors with wind turbines. Once late game build 1-2 fusion reactors, 1 to how many singnalarity reactors you want to build. All in all that's the basics of how to set up your energy grid with shield bots.

There is only one shieldbot that requires extra energy and a lot of the time you just shouldn't build it.

If you want to eco go ahead, but most of the time shields require less energy than other facs because they save on repairs.

Aspis is the only unit out of the Shieldbot Factory that requires energy to recharge.

Felons do not require energy directly, but as they expend their own shields to attack they can keep shooting by transferring shield power from your Aspises, which then require energy to recharge. The basic shield transfer mechanics mean Thugs cannot recharge Felons past 1200 shield strength, and a fresh Aspis charges Felons more rapidly than just Thugs would. So if you do have a shield ball with Aspises and Felons, the Felons will unavoidably spend shield charge shooting that will require energy to replace and that's generally a good thing because it means the Felons can keep up their full DPS for longer.
