So, many old players have too much XP and there is nowhere to spend it. Increasing unlocks price seems unreasonable to newbies and for old folks its just useless number...

And here comes idea.
Donate unneeded XP to charity! How nice this sounds! For those poor folks everyone donates money but no one donates them XP which is so needed. A button with little slider to donate your XP to charity, because we are nice people.

For example you could use XP to grow some balls/beard near your nickname or donate to charity and be a nice person. And thats how we would see who is nice and who is not.

Yes I want to give my nubmates xp for comms, because default coms have a huge disadvantage.

good idea, I have so many smurfs and it is annoying to collect XP for all those accou err uhm. I wanted to say my friends just started playing and it would be cool if I could help them out with some XP!

This is a fundamental problem with any design that offers 'carrots' to its players to keep them playing. The carrots need to be obtainable, but then they eventually run out. Especially with a hobby game like this, there is no one getting paid to keep producing carrots for the players.

So carrots aren't coming; don't look for them unless you are making them.

other games have set a max limit for xp. so if new carrots come, the xp has to be gained and are not automaticly gained because of the "old" xp. imo that would make sense here, too...

The current kudos proposal has some of the cosmetic commander rewards offered at exorbitant (10's of thousands for just one) XP values.

If you use the "Max" system, then suppose an old player, who just reached lvl 60 got no XP, but the next day a bunch of unlocks appear... so he has to play until he gets to lvl 61 or does he get the XP from before?

kmar, developers can just make it this way:
1) If you have more points than you can spend for all possible unlocks:
Show you: %all_points_needed_for_all_unlocks%-%cost_of_all_unlocks_you_have%
2) If you have less points than you can spend for all possible unlocks:
Show you: %your_points% (real ones)
3) If you have everything - don't show points at all.

Personally I don't think there is any issue with high level. It doesn't look like we'll get any more different commander modules or 10 new units all of sudden.

And donating XP to other players is kinda... bad idea. I have an idea who will go all smurf-day.
