Why not just play with springlobby alittle, make a custom springlobby for ZK, like spring1944, make it so you can set up a match, (using a springie host, instead of relay host) and so we have our lobby. So we dont have to stop playing a whole day just cause springlobby is updating, or it just fails. or we can't chat cause is bugged etc.

A simple lobby dont need to update, like spring 1944 (same lobby from like forever) always functional.

Its simpelr to make ZKL portable again.
But frankly, no dev is interested. We are busy providing game for 90% of users who use windows.

If linux person willing to do work becomes available he can expect our help!

Why do you have installation instructions for Linux/Ubuntu on your site but apparently there's no way I can actually play Zero-K without the Zero-K lobby????!!! I've just wasted a heap of time trying to figure out why I can't get into a game only to find my time has been completely wasted.

Drama indeed! You could've otherwise used this time to bring universal peace to us. Doh, it's all the devs fault!

You can absolutely play zero-k without zero-k lobby! Many people do! You can play just fine with SpringLobby just download the game using rapid or direct download from packages.springrts.com/builds

As far as I know Spring Lobby sometimes has a few minutes downtime when it's updated, Licho. I suppose thats five minutes once in two weeks.

I play with springlobby on archlinux myself. What kind of troubles are you having getting into games and what lead you to the conclusion that you couldn't play?

Specific feedback is helpful because probably there is some fault in the instructions if new people are having a hard time getting going.
