There have been cases where people have farmed with smurfs. More XP is gained this way than vs bots.

I'd say beating Godde in under 8 minutes is not only the most likely way to do that for most people (as in some crazy rush), but also probably the ultimate challenge this game has. :P

This was quite a short battle even with high elo players on both sides (not < 8 min I know). I killed Klon's com in it.    sprang Is there no way to effectively prevent/reduce smurfing?

At least I can't think of any way to stop people from playing games against themselves with smurfs. The 8-minute limit at least makes this unprofitable.

This is clearly not true. If it did that then (at the risk of sounding like a troll) I would not be able to create a smurf account and ruin the balance of a game and spoil it for all the other players on the server (which I have absolutely no intention of doing).

There is no way to completely stop all trolls 100% of the time. There are only disincentives. Banning only does so much, XP and unlocks are just another step to disincentivize trolling. Anyway, back to the topic: TheSponge: how many times have you beaten bots/players in under 8 mins? Are you really that desperate for XP? Icy Run and Small Divide are quite small, try "absolutely annihilating the enemy team very early" on bigger maps ;)

Have you ever played Godde? He is unrushable. He always scouts really, really early and knows exactly what to do against every kind of rush, from gnats or other gunship or plane rushes to jack or heavy rushes to just scorcher floods or thuglaw or comm-assisted rocko push... you cannot rush Godde.

 maackey You would be surprised actually. Almost all of my recent < 4v4 battles on smallish maps have gone that way (I do not mean bots, CAI is not even an opponent). An example: 162958 would have been shorter but dogma put up a huge porc. 162809, another calayo but I cant remember map names and the short ones are mixed up in the rest. @saktoth No, I have never played against godde in anything less than 8v8.

You got xp for both those games. To re-iterate what others previously mentioned: There is a time requirement to prevent people spamming short games to farm xp. People farm xp with bots and smurf accounts. Once you get past all the basic unlocks xp becomes meaningless anyway, as you run out of stuff to use it on. And its not like its difficult to get lots of xp -- I don't even play that much and I have tens of thousands of xp just sitting in the bank. edit: Yeah but [GBC]1v0ry_k1ng, you got 30 elo :P
