Most times, after autosplit players leave game. Nubs, and pros, all hate when they forced by some stupid algorithm. If pros whant to play alone, they go to pro- room, or call split vote.

It just happend, before autosplit there was about 20+ people wanted to play in teams. Then autosplit. And now only few people playing teams, and few playing with chickens

I think that less harsh method which discourages people to play super big games would prevent super massive games, and people would call !split more often.

I suggested in some previous topics reasonable unit limit which would mean acceptable performance at any teams size, which would stay same no matter how many people play that way in big team battle you couldnt spam 1000 fleas and kill game for everyone.

Lets say 2000 units(eco structures excluded) on all map 1000 units each team. That would mean if you play 10x10 you can have only 100 units which can attack, people would notice that and maybe would decide play smaller games just because they could control bigger armies. Nice bar above would show how much units you have and also you would see how many you can build just like metal bar or something.

Also maybe laoding screen which explains !split in some nice way would work too.

I agree that split is irritating. I would just lower player limits. As I am sure people will agree though, very few people like 10v10.

Because they prefer 10v10 over 1v1 or not playing at all and the QM menu has a bad reputation or is too confusing for them, wolas.

The problem is that people always argue like "We made a lower split limit but every time a split happens, players leave! Players just want these big games."

IMO there is NO link between "split makes players leave" and "players want big games."

I think there are many other reasons why split can make players leave:
-gamestart is delayed
-seperated from friends in other room
-do not like new balance
-do not like new map (current map is now maybe too large)
etc

If more open battles are the goal (so that there is less waiting and community can actually grow etc) then limit the size of rooms from start, not after the room is overfilled.
The mechanic of taking players out of a battle and moving them to a different can imo not work.

Player limit breaks quickmatching, it would need major redesign/rewrite of quickmatch system.

Limit would also prevent skill separation.

Now all players are clumped together and when enough are present it splits them by elo.

can we do not autosplit, but just simple player limit. say 10v10, and if anyone more try to joing or unspec they forced to spec(not kicked from the room) with sign "player limit reached". And then they have choice, watch this nice big game, or go to other room by their own will.

I would prefer this better then autosplit

But people don't do that because then they would not get to play for even longer. This is yet another problem about lack of players to me. I am still learning my way round making videos but i may have a really bad one done soon.

I think people always need a little guidance.
Just like a car parking lot needs lines painted on the pavement because simply hoping people will park reasonable does not work.

There are many examples of this in the real world, in fact zK has some too:
