Not sure where to start for Zero-K as the installer is for Ubuntu.

The SlackBuilds version of Spring is 95

http://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/games/spring/

Now that I have found out that ZeroK is not using 95 I am thankful that
I waited to install it.

Could someone give me some advice on how to install.

Thanks!

You will need to install Spring 91, which should have builds on the Spring main site and also has source here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/springrts/files/springrts/spring-91.0/spring_91.0_src.tar.gz/download
Then use Springlobby to download ZK by joining any ZK room. Alternately, you could use NotaLobby, which handles multiple engines and is generally pretty nice, but is closed-source if that's a problem.

Go to the download page and read the alternate linux instructions. Try downloading one of those static builds and putting it in ~/.spring/engine/91.0. There is a problem with that static build and it will not start, but this is because the spring executable does not have permission to run as a program. Once you set it to have permission to execute (-x with chmod) it should work fine. If you get the font error ask in #zk, someone will know how to fix it.

If all that does not work you could try the compile instructions, obviously replacing things like apt-get with whatever is used in Slackware (I wrote it for ubuntu).

You are using one of most hardcore distributions and you dont have a time to search through forum? :-D

Just place static build from
http://springweblobby.googlecode.com/files/spring_91.0_portable_linux_amd64.zip in ~/.spring/engine(s)
And run Zero-k lobby, (prettier)NOTA Lobby or weblobby

:D Slackware is awesome. Been with it quite a long time, and
would not choose anything over it.

I did search the forum, and found a few posts regarding Suse, and Ubuntu.

Also to be honest... I posted this at work when I was unable to do anything
with my machine :D

Thanks for all of the help I will see if I can get things rolling.

As far as the Zero-K lobby...

Either I am going to have to build it from Source or build one of
the others from source.

Guess I will see how it goes.

You dont need to build anything if Slackware have mono binaries, you just run the exe.

Or download NOTALobby which is also precompiled and written in C++ and QT.
