Yes and give them for next player who doesn't know what do do with them.
Well, but what will be if all players refuses accept units? They become 'unknow' status?
Maybe its suitable for chicken or CAI games but not for multiplayer. Because alternative option is give this units another player. But if player afk several times then need kick them.

RUrankbanana_Ai but what if the enemy team has also disabled receiving the units? that could actually happen in any game that's not a game vs ai.

If you don't want the units then give them away to someone else.

Or just leave them be. It's not like ownership has any cost.

I've been saying this for a long time, low elo people who think it isnt an issue havent tried playing 12v12 clusterfuck games where 90% of the game all you're doing is dealing with random shit that gets given to you every 5 seconds. Especially when you have lagger or people who like to alt-tab though I usually just start reclaiming all their shit with people like that

not much point complaining about it though, if someone cared enough to add it they would have done by now

Don't forget to mention the following depressing situation:

One players goes afk/quits, you get all their stuff, look through their base and manage to set everything up properly. Then someone else quits. You assess the situation and tell yourself "Fuck them I can do this! I can handle that!" followed by ten seconds of the best macro you have ever done. Then another player resigns. And another. And.. you start crying.

Yes, status should be something like "unknown" or "AFK", retaining in team.

Main thing in games is process, not result.
I don't want to have somebody's units even for a bit of time, even if every time it will lead to loss.

Also don't forget to mention the following depressing situation:

One players goes afk/quits, you get all their stuff, look through their base and manage to set everything up properly. Then someone else quits. You assess the situation and tell yourself "Fuck them I can do this! I can handle that!" You prepare all those new units you got for decisive attack against the enemy. Once everything is ready you finally launch the attack ... but then suddenly the afk players come back. When you notice that 2/3 of your units is idle it is too late. You get slaughtered. And then the idle units you wanted to use. You get blamed by teammate for wasting his units. And.. you start crying.

Go for weighted distribution.

Instead of all players equally, distribute units based on their value to the team. More expensive stuff / micro heavy units (and eco) is given to the top 3 players while inexpensive units are given to the weaker players.

If a player already has 1 of a factory, give it to someone who doesnt have it.

Might make a widget for this sometime when im not busy with school.

I support this. "Willing to receive allied units upon afk/disconnect" should be an opt-in. I view suddenly receiving more units midgame as very disorienting, especially when you get 2 commanders and ctrl-c is broken, and more things like that.

You can pause to sort the situation out. Give them away to someone else or just let them rot.

If ctrl+c is broken then make sure it's not caused by fiddling with widgets (backup settings, reset) and then make a ticket.

And disorient more teammates? Great solution.

Also finding all of the units on a large map just to give them away is a chore as well.

CTRL-C is broken in a sense that you will get focus on different commander every time you press it when you have > 1 of them.

It is somewhat disorienting in the first 3 seconds but then you got a pile of giant indicators in the relevant places and have the great tools in the form of chat and pause to help deal with it.

Emulating /take with Lua and providing a GUI button is the proper solution.

Ctrl+C is supposed to work like that.
