Now moderator have op weapon, its eqivalent 8s of stun but not block weapon.
And this AOE ! And work any units, and med. striders too !
At least its need nerf power, so its cannot to be block striders and heavy units like goli.

Moderator is absolutely fine. Don't touch it.

Moderator is a skirmisher, so being able to deal with heavy units and assault units is pretty much in its wheelhouse. If you need to deal with it, either use artillery or a swarm of raiders. It sounds like it's working as intended.

The only thing I could see as a change to keep it in line with its role but give raiders an easier time dealing with it[*] is to make its weapon shoot a thin tracer line at the target for .2s-.4s before the shot fires, followed by the shot going out along the tracer line (Example). This wouldn't affect it against riots and assaults (what it is meant to deal with), but would allow raiders the change to dodge. This might not be a bad idea for Stingers, Penetrators, and Grizzlies as well, but I don't think those units need such a change.

Optionally the tracer line could show up for a second before it stops[*], tracking the unit during that second, as a neat visual effect.

Placeholder very stronk.

Moderator not at all stronk.

But even then, it's a factory balance thing. Placeholder crap all over tanks, but that match-up is pretty rare, and they can't really be used offensively which means tanks can siege up instead of assaulting into placeholder.

Up until this post I was thinking "did I miss a patch"?

I think Placeholder will be nerfed less than 48 hours after some kind of overkill prevention is implemented for it.

Its just too strong. One PH crippling a Dante is just wrong.
On the other hand I'd like it to be so strong, that it deals actual damage, bumping units against each other inside of the black hole, if it manages to catch at least two units, ofc.

In most situations I find it's possible to put together a solution to Placeholder (e.g. sniper, racketeer, wolverine, airswitch).

I think the lesson is to not move heavies like a Dante around without an escort capable of dealing with stuff like infi/placeholder/skuttle, which seems reasonable enough. Some degree of flexibility in your strategy should be required.

As for the Moderator itself... I have long felt that if a unit with the characteristics of Moderator (high alpha, instant hit, perfect accuracy, slowing) were actually good, then it would be monospammed and it would be cancerous.

Around 160 should do.

Actually since OKP exists now, old moderator really could make a comeback considering that its biggest design flaw was it attacking one unit at the time.
Besides I'm not the biggest fan of a current mod and I just dislike placeholder at large because it is a very annoying unit to play against.

I've thought of a way to add overkill prevention for Placeholder. I should be able to implement it once I've got a working lobby (or if I want a break from lobby).

Note that OKP for placeholder must come together with giving higher priority for targets which won't be blocked.

Overkill protection for placeholder will be really pain.
Placeholder is good vs strider rushes in game start.

Scorpion stuns and kills everything. If you walk around declokaed you are nub.
Dante just presses D and kills all your nubholders.

Everything strider-ish outranges placeholders. Only thing thats higher weight it might be too good against are reapers. It is also very strong vs the lveh/tank factory in general because they have few counters to it.

It's pretty good vs. those things. I've negated dante with them. Two will hold a scorpion in place for 600. Seems worfwile. Absolutely crushes the life out of reaper and goli.

I think you're overselling striders a little bit there... if you move around all your stuff (and specifically all your placeholders) in a ball such that it can be stunned by a single scorpion, you are super duper nub. Not that Scorpions are a typical early rush when the opponent doesn't already have heavies of some kind.

Similarly, Dante can blow up at least one placeholder at range, but has no legitimate expectation of killing them all.

That being said, against a strider rush I would much prefer Racketeer, Thunderbird, or probably even Infi.
