It is limited to certain maps, but the maps that are affected are among the most beautiful and fun-to-play maps on spring.

Folsom happens to be my all-time favorite map. Every single freaking game now I expect at least 1 player to spam Dirtbags down the center, ruining any hope of fun gameplay.

As I've said earlier, I've never been beaten by Dirtbags. I just hate the way they bog down the game.

hahah, I still remember in the commander warfare versions of Zero-K, I combine dirtbags and roachs made really headache in early games. only AoE like stardust could defend against it.

I think cloak bot + shield bot is too awesome in practice.

Dirtbags are nothing but annoying. They'd be fine without their terraform ability and leave a wreckage instead.

I've always wondered what is the idea behind of the dirtbag. It is so artificial as it exploits weaknesses in the unit AI and not in the player. It just screws up unit navigation, aiming and targeting.

That would be fine and cool for some kind of scrambler weapon. But a bunch of dirt mounds that make the battlefield unbattleable... "Sorry, this area is a swamp of dirt mounds, please battle somewhere else..." Just not good and not right.

The most concise description of what's actually happening.

Dirtbags are a fucking joke. It costs more metal and time to terraform the ground back to normal than to produce the dirtbag.

The dirtbag is also quite sturdy, has mechanical legs, can jump 50 feet into the air and carries half a ton of dirt. How is it only worth 20m, anyway?

If we're thinking logically, then that chassis might just be the most efficient thing in the game. Replace the half-o-ton of dirt with the most simple weapon and you've got the cheapest, most durable-for-cost unit in the game that can also jump over anything and all.

So either make me that overpowered unit, or change the dirtbag.

I think dirtbag needs to be more expensive. Expensive enough that you wouldnt want to spam them, or they jump needs to be removed. Also obviously restoring ground must be at least few times cheaper than dirtbag.

There was game we needed to counter bantha at first I made emp planes but they had AA and emp time was not enough 4 emp planes wasted, so magical solution make dirtbags and bantha got stuck constructors constantly restoring and failing to restore ground then came ultimatum and bam bantha is gone ;)

make sweet dritbags cost 150% of restore of terrain? happy spamming!

Dirtbag is spam unit, that's ok, but I find it ridiculous that few dirtbags at one place can leave a frikin mountain and tens of them can leave someone without a factory, because it will cost a fortune to level (restore) terrain.

As a solution some kind of wreckage instead of mountains would be fine, some big (unpassable, possibly stockpiling?) and valuable as low or no metal at all.

Would allow for insta-reclaim.

time for reclaim can be adjusted (but seen it only on map http://zero-k.info/Maps/Detail/13728 , reclaiming the rocks here takes ages).

solution would be give it 1 ? metal and slow reclaim time? if that customization is possible. also it should not be "crushable" by big units, or maybe it should? discussable.

The hill probably needs tweaking because all the engine pathing changes have increased it's effectiveness. Units are properly restricted from terrain that is too steep. Also terraform has had some cost changes.

Clogger was a better name. That's all they do. That is not fun.

The way I see it, what makes the dirtbag so hellish is that they are too cheap and have too many roles:
- They are the best scouts in the game, since they are 1.very cheap and 2.the only scout capable of walking through porc to get intel.
- They are fantastic at terraforming. Their terraform is much cheaper than using a con and much less risky.
- They are ZK's best screening unit, since they are cheap enough to come in large numbers, have enormous hp:cost and a huge hitbox.

They would still be very useful if they only did ONE of these things.

These are separate issues. They can all be solved by increasing cost, but that runs the risk of making them not good enough at anything. They just need to be more specialised.

Do remember that it has about 5 times more health than other scouting units, and are about 5 times cheaper. It is also all-terrain, because it can jump.
