So im not sure if this is a bug, but if it is, its a really nasty one. Commander died, and i wasn't able to build anything. Turned out that i had 0 storage and couldn't absorb or spend anything cause i had no storage. http://zero-k.info/Battles/Detail/443236

It's something that GoogleFrog arbitrarily decided to do late last night right before releasing a new stable. Your initial 500 m/e storage is tied to your com now instead of being magic, so if your com dies you lose all your storage. It currently breaks lots of things. Technically you're supposed to be able to spend your streaming income regardless of how much storage you have, so that's a bug, although it's already been reported.

Its not a bug. Its a feature! One so huge, that it should have been released on a stable announced version and properly tested beforehand. But what do I know about the game development ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Pro tip: To not lose the storage on your com's death, self destruct it. Pro tip #2: Remove the emergency energy buffer from your storage, else if you lose your commander and all of your storages, you will be unable to build anything. Pro tip #3: If you find yourself in the situation where you didn't remove the emergency energy buffer you can put your construction on high priority, which seems to ignore the energy buffer contrictions. Could we please have this fixed ASAP devs? It literally breaks the whole game.

It wasn't an arbitrary change, you just don't notice the years of work and percolation of ideas. Reserve had a bug with truncating upon storage loss which did not show up during testing for some reason, probably because I was /spectator /godmode. It's fixed now.

Plz no, I prefered old one, since now you can take down a whole game with 1 dickmove. It makes people even more annoyed, since you have to make a storage in case your com dies, or this happens I'm pretty sure this was just to stop trollcomming since they can't risk losing their com or they die.

No, because you can still spend metal even with no storage. You just can't store reclaim and you won't get any excess metal from your team.

Lack of excess metal and energy from team is the biggest blocker atm that prevents you from quickly rebuilding. It is just another unneeded change with severe downsides.

Why would your team have excess metal to share to you? Metal will not be a problem as you should receive your full share of the income and share the excess at the start of the next second. I'll check this though. Energy may be a problem if you personally own no energy structures. It's a teamgame though, get them to share you some energy.

I assume you meant "get them to share you some energy buildings"? Can't share energy to players without storage. On another note: players can share metal and energy. When will players be able to share storage capacity without sharing units? When will storage finally be shared by default? Or why wont it be? Every constructor produces metal and energy. Have there been thoughts about giving every constructor storage capacity?

Storage capacity will be sharable when storage stops working in Spring. At that point I'll have to reimplement it in lua and it will then be easy to share between players. Currently storage works how I want it to so I'm not motivated to put the work in.

I dont like idea of shared storage. That would mean complete communism, as even the reclaimed metal will be shared to the whole team (lets be honest, most of reclaimed metal goes to storage before it is used)

Going down to zero storage seems kind of janky and will probably make all the AIs spaz if they lose their com, why u do dis. Why not have a minimum storage floor of something small but not useful eg. 100/100?
