Multiplayer with Steam Login Problem

Draco18s 5 years ago My first time playing today, I went in to do multiplayer, it said "choose a name" and so I did. My steam name, "Draco18s", which I use everywhere across every site and is never taken by someone else. Game said, "That name's taken, if this is you, enter your password." I don't have one, it didn't like blank. According to the FAQ I have to PM a "admin of the server" to get my password changed. Trying to locate that info lead me to a 3 year old thread with a link to http://zero-k.info/Users which is 403 In the meantime I picked a different name ("Draco18s_") but was never asked to set a password for it. Sortale 5 years ago this is not a bug per se this game existed long before steam release and we have many players with the steam release, we need a way to reconcile the old player base with steam account/login. in your case, your old username has been taken by an old account which you do not have the password to and the system happily allow you to make a new account with steam login. Does that make sense? +0 / -0
Histidine 5 years ago There was already a guy who registered with the name Draco18s, in 2014. Presumably it isn't your long-forgotten acc or such. Since that account has only apparently played three games and for one day, I can rename the accounts involved so that he has the Unaesthetic trailing underscore and you get the unmodified name Draco18s. Draco18s_ 5 years ago Having a username so unique means that if I find its ever taken, then it was probably me and I just forgot. I think this is the...third time its ever happened. No idea what the PW could be, but given the steam integration now, not going to worry about it. Steam hookup is more better. +0 / -0

Histidine 5 years ago (edited 5 years ago) If you log in with Steam it should get you the account currently named Draco18s, which is indeed what you last posted with. Is there some other behavior you got and/or were expecting? (This may go faster if you get on our Discord) +0 / -0
