I would like to know if the health of a unit matters when you reclaim it. More precisely, would I get more metal from a 100% HP unit rather than from a 1% unit?

If I get the same metal then the buildings in the planet that can be captured+reclaimed would be way over powered I believe.
We could easily damage them up to 1% or close to it, capture it (will be faster than if it has 100%, right?!) and reclaim it. This could be acomplished much faster than capturing at 100% health and reclaim at 100%. Notice that the "long way" to get metal from them has been successfully done so the way I talk about might be a good improvment for fast metal.

I believe capture is dependent only on unit cost.

Reclaim time is based on the unit cost and health is lost at a constant rate dependant on the hp:cost ratio of the target unit. A unit on 1% HP will only be reclaimed for 1% of it's cost as it will be killed before the reclaim can get anymore.

This means you can get more by repairing then reclaiming. This is a bit fiddly so a gadget may be added at some point to keep the unit at very low HP while there is still more to reclaim.

Well thank you. I'm having a doubt on your words "as it will be killed before the reclaim can get anymore." The idea is to damage the building up to 1% and keep it alive, not to continue to attack it.
This doesn't change anything you said thereafter, right?
