Inspired by this post, Categories of Action in Strategy Gaming, I decided I should try to blog about RTS and Zero-K.

Suggest a topic about Zero-K or RTS in general and I write about it.
Highest upvoted post gets a blog entry about it. The topic can be small or broad but preferably small.

What is MM / ladder anxiety that I keep hearing about? Are people here to play or to worry about playing?

godde.exe: "matchmaker anxiety" not found.

One future and broad topic could be opponent reads. Does the opponents screenname sometimes elicit different strategy?

Perhaps some sort of analysis of Istrolid. What it does or doesn't do well.

Or you could have the TA-tribe (and sometimes C&C) fight the rest of RTS with one of these topics:
  • Infinite vs. finite resources
  • Flow vs. discrete spending
  • Moving and shooting vs. moving or shooting
  • Physics vs. heat seeking bullets and no inertia
  • Dispersed resources vs. well defined expansions
  • Tech levels vs. global upgrades
  • Energy vs. houses as forms of position-independent capacity limits
Ideally the blog would be less of a fight and more of an analysis of an area of games, and the various approaches.

Love this. Can't wait to see what you do first. I'll help spread on social media.

"MM Anxiety: An Introduction" sounds like a fun one. After watching casts of some high-ranked players, I've noticed that the ones who win a lot are calm, cool, and collected while playing. It's easy to get swept up in the excitement of the game - at least the first few thousand times you play?

Here is my first blog.
Medium.com

It could be more polished with pictures and stuff, but man I've already spent like 6 hours on this. Writing is hard.
One could only get better with practice I suppose.

FIrankVermind and others, feel free to tell me if you think I missed the mark and you want me to develop something further.

That's a good start. I liked that it went into detail about several common situations, as well as presenting a low-micro solution as a way to help people who are starting out. The only thing I found was missing was a sense that the question of the post: "How to expand while being raided" wasn't really addressed. As a list of situations surrounding raiding, it worked, I just felt like the apparent goal of the post was unaddressed.

Do you have a twitter account you've posted this on that I can retweet, or are you alright if I just link it from mine?

Some suggestions:
Paragraph headers could use different formatting, maybe bold / bigger font and having bullets.

Mix in pretty screenshots with the text, possibly animated gifs.

Needs some art and some formatting, but the core content is great! Shared it on social for you (Which is when I noticed the lack of a groovy, action-packed Zero-K image!) Good stuff, though.

And, no, writing is not easy! Heh. ;)

ETA: Even adding Hokomoko's silly GIF would be good.

I think the content might be closer to a main title like "How to Raid and Why You Always Should".
I think the article is pretty good. Converting existing first-utterance-of-paragraph things to proper more visible subsection titles would make this better. Some could be added, for example put a subsection title here:

Raiding while being raided

Just In Time defences. If you are scouting properly and have frontline radars up, it will in most situations give a builder on high priority enough time to build a Lotus turret before the enemy arrives. In combination with a few mobile units of your own, this is one of the most lean and adaptive ways to counter heavy raiding while still expanding.

and then Conclusion before the last bit.
