Maps that have no download

Why is it possible to vote for maps that cannot be downloaded?

"WARNING, THIS MAP IS NOT AND WILL NOT BE DOWNLOADABLE." is written in bright red letters on them, yet they can be voted for. See https://zero-k.info/Maps/DetailName?name=Downpour%201.1&

All such maps should be automatically disabled for voting until they can be downloaded.

Some of those maps are needed to progress the campaign... and I don't know how to get them... would be nice having all maps available to download... and good for a vote too

Can people fix this just by reuploading the maps on zero-k.info or is there some kind of admin intervention required?

In ordinary times, if a map was downloadable it would stay downloadable indefinitely so this would not be an issue.

Unfortunately, these are extraordinary times; since Springfiles imploded we are now in the process of finding all the maps which were mirrored there and not on zero-k.info and reuploading them here.

This is fixable by any user that has a copy of the missing map by uploading them using the dialog box on the right of https://zero-k.info/Maps

(For certain maps this will occasionally throw an error; if that happens post on the map's page and an admin will either fix it or unsupport the map until it's fixed.)

is there a master list of missing maps?

This filter on the map list shows the supported/featured maps currently known to be unavailable:

http://zero-k.info/Maps?mapSupportLevel=1&size=Any&sea=Any&hills=Any&elongated=Any&assymetrical=Any&special=0&isTeams=Any&is1v1=Any&ffa=Any&chicken=Any&isDownloadable=0&needsTagging=false&search=

However, this only lists the maps which people have tried to download and found there is no link; the mirrors are not automatically checked otherwise. We've already fixed 40-odd maps but I expect a few more to pop up over time. (Thanks to EErankAdminAnarchid, unknownrankShaman and now ROrankAnagram for pitching in when I got bored.)

(This list is smaller than it was a minute ago so I am guessing somebody is already on this.)

Unfortunately we do not automatically know that they cannot be downloaded until they are voted for at least once and somebody tries to download them. Somebody could try to set up a script to detect all the remaining ones, but my impression is that we are reasonably close to having them all fixed anyway.

Uploaded a couple, seems to be fix. If any more are missing and I have them I'll share my copy.
