So I was just playing some chill relaxing games and got banned for 2 days exactly for what? >>PENALTY: Calling people lobsters too much and throwing games not even a battle reference [Spoiler] someone should probably be banned from performing admin functions, It's been emphasized a lot that when you ban someone always provide battle reference and unambigious reason

Firepluk Level: 9000! Execute emergency protocals! ... I think the game has a line of code in it that auto-bans Firepluk when his F-L becomes too high. This is only a theory but I bet its true.

So this is my first time banning Firepluk, but I don't think it would've ended any better by waiting longer.. Today, Firepluk
-
called castlekside a shitmorpher, his team, and some players specifically noobs and lobsters.
-
threw B997403 8 on Comet Catcher Redux v3.1 and rushed detriment in at least two battles (he still won one of them though)
As far as I know he's been doing more of this in the past weeks. Even if his friends and also me are fine being called a noob, I think it makes the atmosphere look much more toxic than it has to be. Calling someone a noob in a 1v1 is something completely different from doing so in front of a dozen other players.

I don't want to administrate the teams room, but as long as we support it we have to take care of it. This is our newbie room. This room defines the first multiplayer experience for many players. I'd love to just leave it be, but then me, not Firepluk, is the one getting the messages from newbies asking why I'm not taking care of the community.

1. Create a rigid and defined rating system 2. Form a rank system, after which there is a hierarchy between players. 3. ... 4. We are surprised that in this hierarchy someone calls someone noob. How did this happen?

After thinking for a while I ask to delete my account in zk and redact my name on forum(aka Skasi). There is no fun in double standards and being hard policed for something others won't even get a warning for. It's disgusting and I'm done, you(admins in general) won. Enjoy your lobster free games and "friendly community".

As I said, I don't want to do this. I enjoyed making a rating system and I'm fine with keeping the server up for people to have fun playing. If anyone wants to put their free time into creating and enforcing a better system, please do.

It's not my business but I randomly read this and find Firepluk's ragequit post. I clicked his account and it says: quote:
PENALTY: Calling people lobsters too much and throwing games Lobby blocked Issued on: 11/25/2020 4:33:03 PM (4 hours ago) Expires on: 11/27/2020 4:33:03 PM (1d 19h remaining)

So after all these years you're ragequitting over a 2day ban? The thing about people being snowflakes goes both ways.

it is simply not true that "others don`even get a warning" for this. Firepluk , YOU were the one that profited from double-standarts, you were allowed to do way more than other players. See you in 2 days.

If your banning Firepluk for calling someone a Lobster or for throwing a game by rushing detriments then u have to ban your entire community because everyone calls each others lobsters and everyone has had games where they have thrown and I guarantee if u look at Admins accounts you will find the same "toxic" behavior that your condemning players for

I think "too much" are very important words here. Lets not overlook them.

I officially declare that I allow Firepluk to call myself a lobster or noob, and I also prohibit the administration from doing this in relation to me

Everyone is a bit too much, I personally would say that only around 10% have the "calling lobster" behavior... I find it very annoying that people generalize so easy and ignore everybody that tries to be nice. Firepluk: ZK would be more boring without crazy players (like you), don't think it's worth to leave because of a ban... Just call lobster only the blue and purple players, those can take it easier ;-) (ok, probably they are a couple that would get pissed - but everybody know who by now) EDIT: In the spirit of izirayd's post: you can also call me a lobster, I admitted in the ulti thread that I am a lobster, so can't be an insult...

As far as I've seen from DeinFreund, he does not typically exhibit such behavior, even in 1v1s where I have in the past tried to actually annoy him through mindless insults, with absolutely no verbal retaliation from him. Could you provide such examples of DeinFreund, under similar circumstances, such as harassing new players in a 1v1 or in the newbie room? Or even throwing games intentionally? Or is this a "Yeah but x, y and z did this too, why aren't you dealing with them?" Did you report that behavior too? Did a staff member witness it or have it be directly told to them for them to just shrug it off as "regular lobster pot behavior?" I don't think you did. I personally agree on the point that we all have been toxic towards other people by calling them lobsters or try to throw games, but thats almost always in a casual or lobster setting, you should rarely ever do this in a more professional environment where winning and cooperating are important. This also includes places where new players will likely be, and I'm sure the last thing the admins/devs want is to scare away new players before they have a chance to adjust to this community.

Most people have probably insulted someone at some point or threw a game. Everyone has a bad day. The problem is when it becomes a habit. Firepluk has exhausted his benefit of the doubt a long time ago, so its only natural that admins are quicker to ban him than they perhaps would someone else. Can't say I have observed him insult (specific people) too much. He does rush a lot of silly things though, irrespective of the team's wishes.
