Make it plopable already... ffs.
Make it 2x range of regular nano tower, and to avoid nub plops, add to it building and eco and porc, so strider hub will be long range stationary builder... cool or not?

Those are some interesting ideas, but I don't like the idea of making it ploppable, because the strider hub is supposed to be for late-game, and if it's ploppable, it definitely is not going to be nearly as late-game.

I think the issue is the strider hub. I feel it should be removed (maybe retrofitted to a superior nano rez tower without the ability to make striders) striders should be moved to the factories. Some factories already have smaller striders. I may make a mod for this to try it out.

About those unfounded athena accusations i plead the 5th, tho ulti rush in early game would be fun as jugg rush, or early dante. Thats the whole point, to stop it being late game and mix it up a little.

To make strider hub more game friendly thingy give it like 2x, 1.5x range of nano tower, and give it normal build rate but 3x heal rate. and lobster dgun that lobs units at like 2/3 of cerb range, that requires lots of energy per lob. so it would be porc/front healer, and front breaker as well as a builder.

IMO instead of the strider hub you need a "commander factory" which makes things that resemble commanders, or are commanders. Basically upright robotic badass units, ultimatum, paladin, detriment ... and the original four classes of commander. Nothing particularly cheap, everything fun.

Commanders are a game within the game. Total lobsterpot joy.

That battleship and carrier should certainly just be regular boats. (So-called battleship!)

Strider hub shouldn't be ploppable because having a glorified nano turret rather than a factory isn't a fun way to start a game.

Commanders were buildable from the strider hub briefly. Their base cost made them terrible though.

The major issue is the metal income from them. Overdrive is where metal growth currently comes from after metal extractors are built. That has diminishing returns. Allowing units that increase metal without diminishing returns defeats the purpose of overdrive. This is however minimized by only initial commanders having the income of metal and energy. If one dies and is rezed, they loose the income.
