Unofficial Free-For-All Rankings, as of May 31st 2022

I scraped the website for all the results of games played on the [A] Free For All server. This included 3965 games, all within the last 3 years. I was not able to retrieve any games prior to this, i'm unsure if the autohost did not exist, or maybe those games have been purged from the website.

I did not include games on silly maps, team FFAs, games with less than 3 players and games that were less than 3 minutes long. I did not include any games that did not have a victory.

This does not include games not played on the [A] Free For All auto-host, nor will it moving forward.

I used a simple elo system in order to rank players, adapted for free for all games from the simple elo system in 1v1 chess.

This could be improved by implementing WHR or trueskill. There is also an issue with deleted accounts not recording losses correctly (it shows Firepluk died in x minutes, instead of adding games to Firepluk). This issue doesn't seem to effect too many games at the moment, so I neglected it for now.

King was really good in the old days, now ffa has changed and the players are stronger. By the way, King's play style is very aggressive and very few players use it, basically the meta ffa went in the direction of my play style, with aggressive singu and avoiding fights.

@ATOSTIC's jumping shieldballs are a nightmare.

Interesting, but it would be easy to squeue the numbers :-(.

For instance, I can't afford to play when most of the FFA games occur. When I can play, the highest rated players are offline due to time zone differences.

If I were to start playing in the evening after work, I would probably face little opposition unless Dave or equivalent logs on. The top 20+ of that list would all be offline.

I did play a few times but, unfortunately, against players that were significantly lower rating than me and it isn't much fun for me or them. If I wanted to up my number of wins, I'd try to get a FFA going again at around 17:00 EST/EDT and would more than likely face only silvers or below.

EDIT: For fun, I'd be curious to see all time ranking specifically on Ramparts Generator (any server, that map specifically), since the most active FFA crowd refuses to play on anything else. That's one thing I like the autohost for. You can get other maps and sometimes duck or some other silly thing. Private servers are all about Ramparts Gen.
