Hi there,

recently I had the idea for an "eco AI".

This could be a stripped down version of the battle ai's like only capturing mexes and building energy buidlings and gridding everything together.

and with raising metal slightly fortifying the mexes with some turrets.

This ai could be used for testing or stenghtening ai's eco or it could be added to the human team in coop games :D

Hi,

I have an suggestion for additional behavior of the mentioned idea for an AI.

I would call this "ecoAI" and it*s inital purpuse is to add it to a human team and it focus mainly on building metal and energy infrastructure.

Also it would be a great assistance for human player if you are on big maps and you just cleared an areal of enemy forces it can jump in and build eco infrastructure there while lightly securing it with some defenses also this AI should only produce some armed units to defend from raiders.

If there is a plane or gunship factory in enemy use also put up some aa to be most efficient and not wasting resources.

How could this be established? Who can implement such an option?

Anyone can implement the vast majority of it. Edit an existing AI to do it. Adding the new configuration is easy.

It's "easy" in that it only requires basic labor (essentially, finding and tweaking a text config file and testing the change), but is tedious in that it may require somebody do spend a lot of time doing this basic labor. Nobody else seems to be interested so far, so if you really want the feature it's up to you. The ease is that you shouldn't have any trouble relating to a missing skillset.

I've actually already made this AI but it's in Lua so needs to be pushed into the base game to work.

Lua AI is good. They're quite maintainable.

DErankkatastrophe CAI is just the gadget ai_cai.lua, and some stuff in the aiInfo in root. Lua AIs barely exist in many senses. They are just an entry that tells the lobby that they exist, and fully general gadgets that handle stuff when the AI exists. CAI is just a check that there is an AI on a team called CAI, and then a gadget giving a bunch of commands to that team.

Don't copy the code though. It's terrible. Just look at how to set up a lua AI.
