It is something I would like to test, but without testing I suspect the cost would outweight the benefit. The cost is that having your base make more than you told it to is potentially confusing and frustrating. It is hard to only make one unit when your factory is on repeat and you don't know how to turn it off. Sure, we might "force" them into good play on average, but you don't do that by seemingly taking away the tools to do what they actually wanted to do.
Tutorial popups are good but tricky. Perhaps we could extend the construction tooltip to show the modifiers, with an option to show the original. But then we would have most players use the huge version because they don't know how to turn it off.
