why are ticks all terain and roaches arent? is there a good reason for this or just a mistake...

Because spiders are ARM, and tick is ARM too. There ya go. Next question: why are gnat, brawler and banshee white, while rapier, blackdawn and krow black? Oh, wait.

points out that there is only ONE faction in zk... and ticks have 6 leggs... spiders have 8, or 0-5 if my cat cought it btw spider lab is a lie, none of the units there have 8 leggs

Yeah basically because of the history of the unit. It adds an extra dimension of use to the unit and isn't abusive, so the only reason to change is is 'consistency' with the rest of the factory, and nobody has been bothered to enforce that. It is weird though that it has this and Roach does not though.

Ticks really are arachnids, while roaches are insects. Only arachnids are allowed to be all-terrain in ZK apparently. EDIT: Fleas are an exception.

Venom is not a species. Infiltrator has four legs and is not a species. Crabe has four legs, also is crustacean, not an arachnid. There are so much exceptions that rules are useless.

There's two very simple explanations. First, shieldbots have jumping Dirtbags. Second, cloaklab is supposed to be more about traps and surprise attacks. I said this before and think it would still make sense: Roach should be amphib or better yet able to swim on water. Then Tick would be a climber, which makes sense considering ticks climb plants and fall on victims. Roach would be a swimmer, which makes sense considering roaches can swim, live in sewers, sinks and similar.

I think there is a much, much better explanation. the tick cant be used to destroy eco, the roach can. if the roach was all terrain on certain maps it would be ridiclously effective at going behind the enemy base and blowing up eco. the tick can never do this.

http://en.rian.ru/science/20080117/97179313.htmlbased on this shouldnt space faring robot cockroaches be so awsome that they need to be put in strider hub for evryones safety?

This made me realize that if we ever colonize space and someone accidently brings cockroaches mankind will be destroyed by super mutant cockroackes!

^_^ Do you really want a unit that can blast apart your entire pack of Spiders in one go, make a Shield Ball look like it just went through a paper shredder, be paired with an Eraser and thrown at the enemy SC1 Infested Terran-style, AND on top of that can skitter up walls?

That's a pretty nice way of saying "it will fuck you so bad that you'll get pregnant regardless of gender".

but really eithere remove alterain from ticks, or give it to roaches its somenthing most people would expect to be consistent amongst crawling bombs btw irl both tick and roach are wall climbing insects

I see a few alternative solutions here: -rename the roach to something else (roadkill, peppermint, totally-not-roach, etc...) -make the roach legless (give it wheels, or make it hover) -let it be all terrain by way of jumping BUT at the cost of having it explode upon landing (so you can use it to attack up an down cliffs but not to sneak via impassable terrain)

i like the nam "totaly not a roach" but if its hover it would be useless in shield lab, cause shieldies specialize in terain damage. thats anothere reason why i wonder why roach isnt alretain, shiendies already specialize in seriously fucking up terain...

I will rename to RoachMan if they become all-terrain

Roach shoulnd't be leg-less, it should just have two legs. ZK is pretty consistent... 2 legs bot, 6+ legs spider, 4 legs = iffy.
