Hi,

some player in ZK have unlocked evreything, so they cant use they're technologie-points.
So what do you think about non-static Unlocks? i dont want to suggest to make every stuff to a non-static unlock, just some "big" and "strong" units, and not fac's, basic units and important units.

btw.. what do i mean with "non-static Unlock"? Look...
For a example the Big Bertha will be now a non-static Unlock.
So you can unlock it now, but only for a weak. then you have to unlock it again.

i could imagine that this units could be non-static:
-Singularity
-Licho
-Detriment
-Juggernaut
-Bantha
-Catapult
-Big Bertha
-Some Com Modules
-Golliath
-Krow
-Behemoth
-Disco Rave
-and Starlight

Interesting idea, that would really spend the extra XP :)

We should be careful to only allow that for some uber cool stuff though, not for useful stuff fro FFA

No thanks.

XP/unlocks should be mostly for newbies, there are a lot of other things for the veteran players. You can work on improving your elo ranking, getting in the monthly awards hall of fame, and earning influence in Planet Wars.

The #1 rule when designing things that effect gameplay (like unlocks) should be: don't make it grindy.

Nah lucky.
I think we need to make the commander the only unit unlocked by default. Every unit should require 1 exp per metal cost per day. So to unlock a mex for three days you only need to play a single game.

This will add so much depth to the game, not to mention true strategic value and awesome milling.

It's fine that hall of fame is speedmetal and chicken games. The hardcore players will always have elo to grind.

and btw. this non-static unlock would be only for the hardcore players. Or do you need evrytime in a battla a Big bertha, a behemoth, oder a Bantha?

Sure, if we would made all fac's non-static so i understand you.

It's not about what you need, but about what you get to choose from. I've seen battles won with a commander, mexes, solars, spiderlab, spidercons and fleas only. That's reason enough to lock everything else? :)

The problem is:
I have to play different when I can't build certain units. I have to try to win with what I have as quick as possible, before a situation arises that I can not handle efficient with the units I can choose from. This way I can not play passive, even when I would do so if I had all unlocks.

What's if you link labs with your choosen 4 com setups?

And if you choose the baseline com, then you also have base labs available.

Better to just keep adding new content. We could, for example, add back in toilet-mex and different LLT models and heaps of cremuss's stuff and BA:R stuff as model swaps.

That way, you could genuinely design your own 'faction' that is unique to you, with its own aesthetic.

We can also keep adding new krogoth-level units until the cows come home, and new commander models and skins.

We just need the manpower to implement this stuff. This isnt so hard, we already have the models, so get to it guys.

First step is to put back Zenith meteor controller.

few ideas:

  • giant spider that produces ltitle spiders as it goes and throws nets at air.
  • krow-type drone carrier
  • flying black triangle with 3 grav beams which captures unit, holds it mid-air and then kills it with jack spike
  • walking factory
  • massive transport vehicle
  • long-range unit launcher
  • teleport gate
  • rain controller (increases water level)
  • lava controller

Meteorite controller - easy to implement, epic, lulz. What's not to like?

Some mod had this cannon which shot battleships. That a was hilarious superweapon! Though might be just a tad too silly for ZK. :)

Whatever happened to hotcom? Did whoever was implementing modular commanders forget about her? She might be a good candidate for testing temp-unlocks :D

Probably got wiped by the mod-cleaning script that licho ran when ca and 1-fac got merged and moved to google code svn.

+1 for the spam spider, but only because we really need other AA units.
=> mod the spider AA to throw nets and damage multiple units or add slow damage to the attack

+1 to the drone carrier, a flying Reef

why should the black triangle capture before attack with grav beams?
why should it attack some ground units like skuttle and too heavy units?
why shouldn't it throw the unit back to ground - or enemies?

-1 to walking factory - just mod cons to mobile builders like Athena and add mobile nanos.

+1 to massive transport - but do we really need a vehicle if we have teleporters?

+1 for long range unit launchers - but what's with Newton ?

+1 to teleport - recalim and build units otherwhere for 1/3 energy :D
=> but it would be imba without receiver

+1 rain controller, but what's with flooded land buildings?

-1 for lava controller - this make lava maps to king of the terra-hill maps.

-1 To meteorit controler - but do we have a anti meteorit controller like the anti-nuke then too - or do we need a starlight-solar-satelite to defend it?
=> I really dislike games where you can't build the biggest units available at least each third game ( Disco is inefficient if you can build Berthas with more range ).

I'm for a eco destroying licho with more dureability and less ground combat equipment except a single target weapon but with better AA and more temporary speed boosters

Its unpossible to create, because the waterlevel cant be modified for a specific region.
