"You can even control your units directly in First Person Mode!"

Ok, how? I've been searching this site for "First Person", but I've only seen those words on the main page. I've looked through in-game settings, but I'm just not finding it. A little help please?

Press V or C, not sure what is it in default settings.

You must have some mobile unit selected to use this.

Thank you! Nice!

It may not be that useful atm, but it has potential if it were expanded on. Maybe something along the lines of Valkyria Chronicles, or even better considering the units are mostly automated after a set order. At the very least, a hybrid of C&C and C&C: Renegade.

Did this mode get removed? It used to be alt-v for me but now it doesn't work.

It's pretty deprecated. If someone wants to make a game that uses it (maybe something that plays like Sacrifice), they would need to do some engine modification to make sure it is up to snuff first.

I'm not even sure why it isn't totally disabled in ZK, but the aiming is limited to what the unit would do without direct control.

It can be useful for a replay/spectator mode, one chooses a units and follows it through the game. When it get orribly smashed, camera moves to the killer, and then to the killer's killer and so on (you will get stuck on a screamer sooner or later but whatever)

This is available now. Under Camera Settings, enable COFC, then go to Camera Following. Use the "Enter 3rd Person Trackmode" button after selecting a unit. Best to bind it to a hotkey.

Once following you can even use the arrow keys to switch to nearby units.

Now we just need a wubget to highlight it in spectator mode!

There actually is slight utility. The game tries hard to disallow overshooting (you can't aim at the sky, only at ground/enemies), but for some weapons that's still enough.

For example, some dguns bounce off water, and gauss shots bounce off the ground.

Okay, the spectator stuff is fair. I don't know how often I'd use it, but it may be worth experimenting with it.
