760 metal for something that

-Can kill other gunships-
-Can shred a com in seconds-
-Can kill a fac before they can make AA [insane dps+health]-
-Has skirm range-
-Can shred raiders-

Brawlers have made all other gunships but krow obsolete (formost the BD and banshees).

Blastwing, Gnat, Rapier and Trident aren't obsoleted by Brawler - though I admit in most environments they are used to support Brawler.

Banshee and Black Dawn indeed don't have much of a role at the moment.

I feel a bit like lowering Brawler maneuverability. With that range it could afford to be slower to turn, accelerate and have a lower max speed. Damage may be a bit high. Maybe the flight height is a bad thing too, not sure.

Ladies and gentlemen, please let me remind you that I have been whining at AUrankAdminGoogleFrog ever since I read about this change. In case Brawler ever gets nerfed I deserve full credit and a medal! Honk, thank you.

I like the maneuverability idea. In particular, turnrate. Given that gunships can accelerate anywhere without looking there, it can even be really low, and that would be cool.

If you succeed, you get this front-torso implanted. it even has a star and colors!

On a partly related note, why can Brawler fire 70° off-bore? Looks super silly.

Probably because Spring/ZK does not allow players to order Brawlers to point east while flying west even though Gunships can accelerate in any direction. To clarify, Gunship turning is only important for the weapon, not movement. This can not be controlled by players -> bad controls -> super low aiming angle yucky.

Brawler could have its maneuverability and speed decreased to be some kind of a flying arty.

BTW The biggest ''problem'' with Bralwer is cheese. If u dont scout the Brawler while it is being rushed (even by 1 player), u'll be doomed when it suprises your com with its pants down and no ready AA around. But thats player-, not unit-based problem, isn't it?

Maybe it's best to just have most (all?) gunships work as floating "turrets". When I say turret I mean the part that rotates independently of wheels/feet when firing, for example Vehicles' and tanks' barrels, most kbots upper bodies, etc. Together with EErankAdminAnarchid's suggested low turn rate this could be something that strongly defines gunships. Different turn rates or even no/less significant advantages from turning (Trident, Krow) can be used to create more unique units and to more stress classes/roles.

I still think gunships need HP buff, now they are too easy targets for the most of AA. HP in trade of speed/maneuverability.

They should be able to withstand and absorb big damage before going home...
At this moment most of them are hit and run except the mighty krow.

Also the current roles of brawler and BD are very clear and I like this.

BD: snipe heavy targets, mostly hit and run(depends on AA coverage)
can be used in groups to snipe even more heavily targets(heavy coms/facs/fusions/AA)
bad vs many light tiny targets

Brawler: supress enemy forces, lower dps, harder to kill because of fly-high, can withstand longer and make damage to more targets
it's like air arty. Very cool.

IMHO gnats should be more accurate, hard to use ATM
and blastwings are incredible fragile, need more HP

I am not sure about Brawler in small teamgames. By the end of the tourney we were getting predictable and almost got countered. In large teamgames a lot of the power of Brawlers seem to be in failure to scout and coordinate a response.

Brawler probably needs some small nerfs in speed/maneuverability
on its own it's a weak unit: even a few jethros/vandals can scare away brawler
but when u get a lot of brawlers they just instashred everything on their way...

Yeah the brawler alone is not that bad. Rushing 1 brawler at the start of a game and not scouting is a bitch but it can be handled if you just try to counter it from the start depending on the size of the map.

The main issue is that a player can sit back and make 5 brawlers then it will kill everything very fast. You have a good amount, everything dies within 2-4 seconds.

A secondary issue is that right now the planes factory is very underwhelming compared to the gunship factory. It nearly obsolete in a way.

A gunship factory is the number 1 choice now instead of a plane factory. I seen many games where it 2 gunships vs 1 air 1 gunship or just gunships and no plane factory.

Obviously not everything but it can not be denied that everything that gets hit by a mass of brawlers takes insane damage very fast.

...just like anything that gets hit by an ultimatum, or any other amount of units costing 3.6k metal. You know, like (if you want to stay with air) 4 BD, 16 banshees or 12 rapiers.

The question is what your own 3.6k metal are doing during the time the GS player sits at home doing nothing except building brawlers.

And no, I'm not arguing that Brawler is balanced, I just can't stand these unfounded arguments of "If I make a lot of these units, they're very strong, so they must be OP".
