6 All else being equal, a lane can be crushed if the opponent(s) are making an easily counterable army, or they are making unwise attacks with their army. A lane can be ignored if the opponent(s) are not posing a credible threat. If a lane is ignorable but not crushable (often because many defences have been built) I will rotate to another lane, or tech to nuke etc. 6 All else being equal, a lane can be crushed if the opponent(s) are making an easily counterable army, or they are making unwise attacks with their army. 10 * Build a reasonably diverse army. Mass Slings may be good in some scenarios, but if a strong opponent gets to battle you 1v1 they will switch to Blastwings or some such and ruin your day. (Of course, if you are overmatched on a lane your opponent will know more counters than you. Just do your best and dont lazily monospam a single unit type.) 10 * Build a reasonably diverse army. 11 * Don't attack just for the sake of attacking. If you have a decently sized army, a strong player wants to fight you where they can reclaim the wreckage easily. 11 * Don't attack just for the sake of attacking. 12 * However, you should always be *threatening* to attack, or at least to apply pressure. If the strong player can go away and make a breakthrough on another front and you can't punish them for that, you have a problem. If they have left mostly defences to hold your front, make sure you have something that can crack those defences, probably artillery. 12 * However, you should always be *threatening* to attack, or at least to apply pressure. 13 * Ask for help from your team, but don't be upset if it doesn't come. The stronger players on your team may judge that they have a better chance of winning by trying to crack open their fronts against their weaker lane opponents. Maybe they're right, maybe they're wrong. You can't win them all. 13 * Ask for help from your team, but don't be upset if it doesn't come. 14 * (Maybe this is just advice for getting better in general, but...) Try to always have a positive plan for how you are going to achieve something. Make some artillery. Make some units to counter what you are about to be attacked with. If you don't know what is coming, morph a Sparrow and go have a look. Don't just sit there making the same old army which is being obsoleted by your opponent's counters. 14 * (Maybe this is just advice for getting better in general, but...)
