I just hate having to fight purples and blues directly, best I can think of I can do is just be a nuisance but even then it won't be enough if some ground players don't even play the game (I'm not saying all, in fact most were fine, but one in particular)

You say you blame yourself and your team more than Tarkin (in the game). But I think that's the issue tbh. If you "blame" your opponent for a good play, that brings people up. He circumvented the entire team to do that. Twice.

There isn't a ground player assigned to your backline. Nobody is actively thinking to themselves "alright, I need to hold this front, take these mex, and screen around my air player's factory for gremlins". Getting them to bail you out isn't something you should take for granted when you get hit from an unexpected angle. Rather than blame, it should be Tarkin's insightful exploit of the weakness that should be celebrated.

I mean, plays like that are just what I've come to expect from strong/very good players, I blame myself (and my team) because it was allowed to happen in the first place, and the gremlin thing it was not just gremlins more of the expectation of scythes and widows too.

I was also too stressed out at the time to think more positively about it. Don't get me wrong, it just that it didn't feel good to have it happen especially when stressed out.

Its always good to think about where you can improve, but try to be realistic about it. Sometimes no matter how well you do your team can't hold it together. If you as a lower ranked player were a significant obstacle to blues and purples that is not something to be understated.

I do apologize for my negativity at the time, like I said I was stressed out there and then

I'll keep it in mind for the future

I agree with AUrankSnuggleBass. Games and the community would be way better if we stopped blaming teammates or engaging in blame games entirely and started focusing on celebrating good plays. We should be trying to bring each other up not push each other down.

This was part of why I stopped playing in teams all welcome. It's just not fun to play in when certain people feel it's okay to make the environment hostile like that. More so when kick votes are involved in this blame process. It actively makes the game less fun to play I feel.

Sometimes, being a nuisance on a battlefield is the real good way to use even your low bronze rank. If you're good enough with a bronze rank, you might even get the title of a 'bronze dragon.'

Also, snugglebass, skigear, shaman, you have your blue rank already. you have nothing to complain: Blue rank is the highest badge of honor.

Furthermore, AntRose is a Class 4 ruler, meaning that he changes the world. As class III rulers who are just looking to be pleased and to please people, you have no authority over Class 4 rulers.

I still feel the headache from hearing prideful people complain about me. I hope this list will lighten my pain:
BAD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN THE HIERARCHY IS DEFIED
List begin:
Class 0 is physical prowess.
Class I is manipulation and control.
Class II is rich welfare.
Class III is play and compassion.
Class 4 is power to change the world.

Also, I hate how all of your advise can be summarized as "stop dreaming." That's the worst advice any high rank can give to anyone.

Now please remain respectful before humble players. Or bad things happen.

USrankCliver5 I fail to see how "celebrating good plays" is equivalent to "stop dreaming."

Also, who is complaining here, except you?

You say "please be respectful," but until you showed up the conversation was constructive and respectful. Is there something I'm missing?

... hah. should have watched your steps.
Go ahead. Voice your sinful complaints. The more of you show your true colors, THE MORE OF YOU WILL FALL BY THE EYES OF LADY JUSTICE. For there is no shadow that will welcome your wrathful arrogance, mary sues.

You hold hatred for the best of you because you all play the loser's game. Yet you all gave up on winning the best place because you soon realize that if you are called the best, you get equal scrutiny. You are your own worst enemies. It's refreshing to unmask your facades. But alas, you hold respect for no one. Glory to the good man among you when he rises back up.

Speaking as a reasonably highly rated player, if I find myself on a lane against weak opponents (or stronger opponents who are making mistakes) I normally have some combination of two goals:

(a) crush them, or
(b) ignore them.

All else being equal, a lane can be crushed if the opponent(s) are making an easily counterable army, or they are making unwise attacks with their army. A lane can be ignored if the opponent(s) are not posing a credible threat. If a lane is ignorable but not crushable (often because many defences have been built) I will rotate to another lane, or tech to nuke etc.

Conversely, if facing an opponent who is stronger than you, I think your goal should be to deny your opponent those goals - be uncrushable and unignorable.

  • Build a reasonably diverse army. Mass Slings may be good in some scenarios, but if a strong opponent gets to battle you 1v1 they will switch to Blastwings or some such and ruin your day. (Of course, if you are overmatched on a lane your opponent will know more counters than you. Just do your best and dont lazily monospam a single unit type.)
  • Don't attack just for the sake of attacking. If you have a decently sized army, a strong player wants to fight you where they can reclaim the wreckage easily.
  • However, you should always be threatening to attack, or at least to apply pressure. If the strong player can go away and make a breakthrough on another front and you can't either follow them or punish them for that, you have a problem. If they have left mostly defences to hold your front, make sure you have something that can crack those defences, probably artillery.
  • Ask for help from your team, but don't be upset if it doesn't come. The stronger players on your team may judge that they have a better chance of winning by trying to crack open their fronts against their weaker lane opponents. Maybe they're right, maybe they're wrong. You can't win them all.
  • (Maybe this is just advice for getting better in general, but...) Try to always have a positive plan for how you are going to achieve something. Make some artillery. Make some units to counter what you are about to be attacked with. If you don't know what is coming, morph a Sparrow and go have a look. Don't just sit there making the same old army which is being obsoleted by your opponent's counters.
