Transfer of factories afk players

Today in one of the games I got a player's factory with 2100+ units in the queue, by the way, I'm tired of constantly clearing the queues so as not to waste metal in the players' AFK units.

I tried to remember the key combination to dequeue 100 units at once per iteration, I don’t remember exactly what I pressed, shift, ctrl and alt together with the right click, after the counter went up and in a couple of seconds reached 10k units in the queue, after everyone started lag game

the game counter was literally constantly adding units

I apologize for the inconvenience, I did not know that this would break the game and that there was a bug in general

I think we need a limit on max units in queue for factory, and max buildings that can be in build queue for builders.

Sounds too restrictive. How about just a default setting that allows, if so desired, any builders to automatically clear their queue when they are acquired from other players? Could also be done for other units with a possible option to return to base (to prevent suicide before the new owner can react).

If merely adding a large unit queue can lag the game to death, I'd say we should indeed have a limit, otherwise any troll can use that to crash the game.

The repeat function exists to handle very complex queues that are meant to go on for a very long time, so a huge maximum queue size isn't required. 200 should be enough.

Buildings need to be placed individually rather than merely smashing a button, so maybe its not needed.

OMG how do you queue many units?

I normally don't have enough units in combat, they all die too fast XD

Some sort of reasonable limit sounds good. You can cancel all construction with Ctrl+S. There is also a command for this on the orders tab.

If you hold shift you can add/remove 5 units to the queue instead of 1. This is the only shortcut I personally use, but I understand there is also one for 20, and apparently one for 100 as well? Don't know the keys for those.

If you keep running out of units in the frontline I strongly recommend you rely on the repeat command. You just set a nice proportion of units and you're golden. If you need one-off units that you don't want to be part of the repeat loop, you can use alt for that (they will also be built as soon as the current construction is done).

Ctrl is 20
Shift is 5
Alt is insert
Ctrl + Shift is 100
Ctrl + S is clear factory queue(Alternative Stop)
Ctrl+Alt+Shift is S E R V E R D E S T R U C T I O N
Alt + F4 is the infinite metal cheat

Hope this clears things up.

DErankSnowlob hmm, the queue in factory seems different from building queue

DErankSnowlob A 200 windgen farm is big enough for most purposes, if you need more power you can use singularity reactors.

BRrankManored IIRC shift+alt would allow you to make a box of buildings. and you can make that box the size of the map.

I was thinking a limit of 300-500. Its to stop the game breaking trolling of some players of late. One game entire map was covered in a build queue of like 100000 lotus. Another this game the other day with RUrankizirayd with 22000 units in queue.

Nobody should be queueing that many units or buildings in any reasonable scenario. Therefore a limit is the best way to stop or reduce the impact of trolls.

The maximum check would not solve the root cause probably, but seems a reasonable, simple solution.

I mean, no matter what combination RUrankizirayd used I doubt he managed to add 22k units in a couple of seconds, and continue to increase - might be something like game "perceiving" that the key combination was still pressed when in fact it was released or some other exotic bug triggered by the exact conditions.

If players are doing these attacks (yes they are attacks) then they should be getting modactioned under Section 3 "Dont grief" of the Code of Conduct. Please report the behavior.

Thanks.

PS: what youre seeing is a combination of factory queue insertion and new commands.

They should definitely get reported, but closing easy trolling pathways makes the lives of the admins easier.

Also, if izirayd did that by accident, others might.

and yet I get whined at for smurfing, still no opt-out for this retarded sharing thing so every time u join lobster pot with 32 players you get shared units every 2 seconds any time a player alt tabs, goes afk, or quits and spend most of your time figuring out what to do with all this random shit

I can see 17 medals of Share Bears in my account.

Although I come back in most cases, elders often need me to cook or preparing food, various houseworks.

I want to be a superman.

The problem here is that it would be easier to simply ban players for this than having everyone need to run some heavy table modification and monitoring gadget that fires every time a command is issued. Mind you that in a team game a single person can run 1000's of commands legitimately during the span of 1-5 frames. I dont think this would be good for performance just to clean up a couple of trouble makers.

I dont think in this modern era where the factory stop command exists that the factory queue attack has any ground for unintentionalness. Although that can be cleaned up widget side.
