I looked at /Battles/Detail/*number* - it surpassed 1500000! Wow!
With such amount of time spent we could probably build a pyramid :)

That is a lot. The current site has been up for about a decade, so that comes out to 17 games per hour. That sounds reasonable given all the passworded games with friends and the occasional game that needs a quick restart.

The millionth game was only two years ago so Steam certainly did something. The 500,000th is four years ago while the 250,000th is eight years old. Battle 1 is 11 years old.

Imagine the moderation load that would come with it.

In the event that our admins do not have the bandwidth to handle them, I would be glady assist in the moderation process.

Most moderation load is entirely self imposed as it is.

I keep saying it all the time: there's needless rules/limits about lobby hosting and kicks (self hosted lobbies are prevented from kicking undesirables), needless gameplay mechanics that only exist to grief (ally reclaim of units in factories), there's no automated AFK detection and punishment system in place, there's no leaver penalties, no friendly fire penalties, no chat filters, the existing kick system is barely functional and whoever is votekicked (or even admin kicked) can just rejoin back, accounts have absolutely no value since the very thought of limiting lobby rooms based on account age/rank/hours is high heresy, individual players can perpetually hold rooms hostage by timing their votes (no vote limits).

RTS is a niche genre, it's likely that even if this game had modernized the above archaic approach, it would remain niche. Also pretty sure there's not even an account recovery system in place.
