Can we change jack jumpjets to a simple jump?

I'm getting tired of seeing orbital jacks landing in spots they can't be targeted, and having to make a counter measure usually means you're tying up units that could be on the front-lines essentially making your base a front-line.

People have complained about jack orbital drops/regular drops for years. It is not going to change. I agree with you, but the devs like them the way there exist.

In my early days on ZK, I've been so surprized to see "flying" Jacks and found it a bit unfair.
Shortly after this, I learned that they can be launched with a terraformed ramp + a few Newtons.
IMHO, the best way to prevent this is to build up a few cheap anti-air turrets and/or mobile anti-air units (Toads, Air Superiority, ...) + a few Lotus and/or Picket towers.

Addendum : this will also help in preventing back stabbing by Athenas that can build up units and/or teleporters in the rear of a base.

Honestly speaking 'backstabbing' is part of what makes zk fun. Scythes jacks etc are all meant to have a purpose. Jack drops are incredibly strong if you don't know how to deal with them. Gnats, are perfect counters. Gnats are cheaper than jacks considering how many you need and their speed makes it easy to stop the drops. Combined with locusts means that anywhere the jacks are can be targetted. Newtons by singus is one of the strongest things vs odin or jacks.

I do not feel that it is a broken feature or will ever be changed. After all if one player can dedicate their resources to the drops, then another can counter them.

Don't take away my Spacelob, please.
ero K has become more refined and cleaner over the past few years, which is certainly excellent, but at the same time so many broken, chaotic, and fun things have been destroyed.
Spacelob is one of the few fun things left from those days. Don't take it away.

While I don't use jackramps (honestly I don't know how), I think they're great.

First, it's one of the few things that can actually get through the porc slag heap that is the front line in big teams.
Second, it showcases the sandbox and modular design philosophies of ZK in a semi-competitive setting. You literally build your own superweapon from component parts.
Finally, it punishes people for not making any units - while 99% of big teams punishes anything remotely mobile for not being high enough weight.

So long as people are using them effectively (not rushing it in a 2v2 for instance) I don't really see any issues.
