USrankErmintrude, it is released, that is sort of why all these concerns are now extremely pressing.

What do you mean it is released, QAranknorm0616? The steam release is still weeks and/or months away.

Steam release means the game will be more deveoped, more bugfixes and will be easier to use and play for newbies.

ZK itself is released, but not on steam :)

I would go with 10-15 per game type max. It's hard enough learning the game without also having to learn that many maps

If there's too few maps then maybe people get too used to them and don't experience enough variety to learn that maps have a huge impact on the game?

iirc evo had problems with server also, people were taking ages to download the game, the autohosts were not working properly and the server was lagging because of all the new people

is the server good enough to handle sudden +200 people?

ZK is more stable and user friendly than evo but I still think and always did think that ZKL looks incredibly amateur, which is everyone's first impression of the game, just look at those youtube responses to evo

also for the 100th time: take chili chat bubbles and text to speech off the default widget list

game is fairly problem free compared to evo so it shouldn't be all that bad

I'm thinking of getting a new computer that won't overheat so I may be coming back.

First thing I see is this. I thought the consensus a few months back was that we weren't ready?

In any case, if I get my computer before it releases, I could see about trying to help newbies when I'm not at work.

Yep, and nothing has really changed since then. There are fuckloads of issues and unless fixed, each would cost us dozens, if not hundreds of potential players. Look at the adoption rates of Evo RTS. Hundreds of people tried it thanks to steam, and they all left because of how shitty the launch was.

Increasing your stable playerbase from 5 to 20 people is a huge waste of potential brought by the steam release.

I get a bit tired of suggestions which don't pay attention to what has already been done or has been discussed. For example Chat Bubbles has been disabled for a long time.

Lol ppl remember me? XD
I went away mainly because my computer developed a heating problem that made all games using the graphics card overheat and blue screen the computer. And it was just out of warranty. =(

On the bright side, a new computer means a fresh install. Although don't expect me to re-dl all the maps. To bad we're still on 91. Maybe I can help test too.
