Simple suggestion -

Give spider cons the ressurect ability. Spiders have the smallest unit selection and a creepy, necrotic appearance that goes well with the idea of Resurrection. They are also difficult to use well and could do with some love.

resurrect should be cheaper, because Athena has less BP
But otherwise this could balance everything.

I like cloak+rez :)

As a replacement or an addition to the Athena?

I like the resurrection on a plane, personally, since it discourages resurrecting at the front since aircraft are vulnerable at much longer ranges than land units, thanks to the long range of AA units.

Imho, best place for rez would be a new, sluggish flying con for the Gunship lab so that the Gunships and Planes woulnd't share a con unit anymore - planes get fast Crane, Gunships get slow rezzer.

If it's slow, it should have high BP. It has the vulnerablility of air, bjut mjuch less of the movement bonus.

+1, I was almost to suggest it myself when I noticed no "normal" constructor can rez anymore.
It might also help spiders when they get harrased by glaives. (rez some dead glaives for yourself)

At the moment the athena is almost useless as rezzer. Too expensive, too risky, and too slow rezzing.

It almost never make cost, the expected lifetime of athena is less than it takes one athena to rezz enough stuff to make it more profitable than reclaiming.

I think athena with res is good, as before this change some people were building an entire fac JUST to rez a single unit that they lost. It also makes resing units a lot less versatile, and more expensive, before this change people could just have armies of resing cons marcing across the battlefield reconstructing entire armies in the field.

Rez-ing your way across the battle field should really be brought back, with the exception of sea rez. Controling metal on the field is the only way to win and rez-ing is no diffrent. I have noticed that rez units in the sea, when we had anphib rez, was a major balance issue. I like the idea of having a rez unit built by the athena (keep it out of the water) so that is can augment any fac you already have. Maybe bring back the old necro/FARK model? :)

Maybe add rez to the Caretaker? Then you could start rezzing on the spot anywhere, including the water, but you have to invest in caretakers to do it.

Immobile rez sounds kewl, but i'd really like to see spiders do it. It fits their vicious theme so much.

-1 to spider rezz:
- it would make rezz a factory-specific again, people would build spider factory just to rezz something
- spider cons are good enough already, they can seamlessly move through any terrain, and are the most versatile land con atm (for comparison jumpjet cons need much more micro if you want to build on hills)


+1 to caretaker rezz:
+ not factory-specific
+ can be built anywhere, on water too, but isn't submerged so won't be as abusable as clams were
+ it is the most fragile non-flying builder so would be easy to counter
+ its immobile nature means you can't just use one big swarm of them to rezz the whole map, you would have to keep rebuilding them in wreckage-heavy areas, which makes building them in certain area a strategic decision, and also ensures they won't be as overpowered as mobile rezzers could be.
