I still don't get why the nuke was launched right when it does. Nukes fire instantly and thermite takes several seconds to kill the launcher, this was eminently avoidable!

I see Funnelwebs but don't understand why they're there rather than 5 spread out Aspis, two Thugs, an Outlaw, 3 Conjurers and a Felon. D:

Consider:

1. Virgin Funnelweb+Dante
  • 19.6k shield hp + 300hp/s when not in combat
  • Mid range 500 elmo attack with 120dps vs shields, maybe 500dps vs unshielded
  • Close range ~700dps attack
  • Dies to a single Ultimatum
  • Worn down by arti
2. Chad spread out shieldball of 7 Aspis, 1 Felon, 2 Outlaws, 3 Thugs, 6 Recluse, 3 Redback.
  • 30k shield hp + 410hp/s even in combat
  • Mid range 570elmo attack with 700dps vs shields, ~1000dps vs unshielded
  • Close range ~1800dps attack
  • Even cloaked snitches struggle to make cost
  • Laughs at Merlin or that squad of 5 Impalers

I really should make that auto-spread widget which lets unit groups try and spread out from each other...

I'd say some factors favor Funnelweb:
Attrition. You are likely to lose some shields and especially cons while reclaiming. It is easier to keep a screen infront a funnelweb as the shield is bigger.
Long build radius. It helps to funnelweb to stay alive while repairing and reclaiming and building.
Big shield radius. Easier to shield front line units without exposing the shields themselves to attrition from cloaked snitches, Likhos, tac nukes and other stuff. It also makes it harder to stun with Shockley as the Funnelweb doesn't have to stay so close to the frontline and the shield can block a Shockley missile.
