Chalk one up for defeating Locust, in small teams, on a large map, without an air plop... though I certainly cannot say that we made light work of it.

The Locust spammer was overflowing metal half the time. managed to wrack up 2864 overflow over the entire game. About one third into the game they had a large overflow spike brining them up to around 800 overflow. Their team even excessed 2467 metal one third of the way in too.

What worked:
Imps repeatedly stunned large chunks of Locust flocks; Locusts need to run around a lot to function, which makes them vulnerable to burrowed Imps, and one hit can force even the nonstunned Locusts into a no-win situation.

Ogres forced the Locusts to disengage immediately whenever they showed up and got a few random kills in the process.

Scalpel plus Mace hit a critical mass where the Locusts couldn't engage them.

Ettins were the best performing dedicated AA fielded.

Lotus spam assisted by constricting the Locusts' mobility even if the Locusts could stop to kill them.

What didn't work:
Crashers weren't actively hunting Locusts or even trying to kick them out of the team's rear zone, and despite being built in large numbers they generally died on the front before getting a single shot off.

Gremlins were only acting as deterrents because they weren't grouped up enough to secure kills. I suspect they were mainly intended to fight Blastwings.

What wasn't used enough to evaluate:
Flails extended the zone of deterrence for the hover ball but I don't think there were ever more than two on the field.

Razors were solely used to restrict Locust movement along the edges. The Locusts weren't afraid to dive one to pick up kills, but there were no edge fly-bys after the Razors went up.

Overflowing metal to your teammates is not a big deal, necessarily. Excessing metal as a team is obviously suboptimal.

It is not as though the mistakes all run one way. My utter incompetence with Kodachi reared its ugly head again here.
