Who plays ZK and knows Lua?
As the main Spring forums seem dead, I'm curious enough to make and update this list as people mention themselves or other people.

@Googlefrog
CArankAdminShadowfury333 (Excellent Teacher!)
USrankArchshaman
CHrankivand
EErank[ISP]Lauri
Skasi
SErank[Er0]Godde
RUrankAdminikinz
CZrankAdminLicho
PLrankAdminSprung
@Smaggy
@KingRaptor
@Rafal[ZK]
DErankXivender
GBrankTheEloIsALie
DErank[2up]knorke
MYrankxponen
EErankAdminAnarchid
USrankAdminCarRepairer
[AG]abma
@[LCC]jk
FIrankAdminAlcur
CArankPxtl
NLrank[XIV]Floris
USrank[rks]N2maniac
USrankkaen
USrankAutowar

Probably Dead:
ITrankAdmin[LCC]quantum[0K]
LTrank[pikts]wolas
UArankIvica

"Alive" = has played ZK in the past two weeks to a month.
"Knows Lua" = Knows Lua enough to make/edit widgets/maps/gadgets/etc.

FIrankAdminAlcur used to, before he quit struck down @[anteep]'s true form and disappeared from this plane of existence.

MYrankxponen & EErankAdminAnarchid know a lot of LUA I believe. (Probably understatement)
Special note on EErankAdminAnarchid - he only plays 97.0 I believe. On occasion he does play on 91.0 tho.

UArankIvica - made the zombie mod option.

Probably missed quite a few people or forgot some. Sorry in advance and hope this helps.

I have not a single clue from LUA except some basics.

You have to define "know" here. There are a lot of programmers playing zk and it would take an hour tops for any programmer to get to my level of "knowing" Lua.

Knowing Chili, various peculiarities and good practices of spring may be a better metric.

This.

Learning lua-specific syntax is not the problem. The problem is getting into the structure of the engine with respect to definitions/globals/constants, data structures and callins (and, of course, whatever quirks there may be). And as we discussed before, lua doesn't exactly help with this.

Is there an API description somewhere? Or does boil down to "just search widgets/gadgets that do similar things and adapt the code"?

http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_Scripting - section "Interfaces"

A starter tutorial:
http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua:Tutorial_GettingStarted

Serious question:
Is that really so hidden?
1) http://springrts.com
2) click wiki
3) The second point under "Development" is "Lua Scripting"

You can add me to the list, I know it pratty well, also the engine internals related to it.

As for API, I can't imagine deving any serious lua for Spring without having a browser with several subpages of http://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_Scripting opened.

Also LTrank[pikts]wolas knowns how to make lua for his maps (Trololo, Duke, Chocolate Rain), but he seems inactive recently.

Don't ask.
Just be happy you are on the same list as Godde, and you are in front.

One day i was going on a trip and i stumbled into some weird-shaped hole. So i went a couple paces into the darkness, and there i found a weird plaque decorated with ancient arcane runes of mystery, worn away by time and scratched by forces unknown. They read like this:

O͎̺̖̱͡M̤̫̪̠̤̹̜͟P̛_̻̳T̪͍͠HR͟E̯ͅA̢D̨͇̲̻̮̹̠̩_͍LI̦̫͓̤̙͔M̳̪͎I͕T̛͉̯̙

Upon reading them, i decided to leave the strange place alone. But ever since that fateful day, i've had no problems with running 91.0.

for the sake of the list, linked @names would be appreciated, this lets me see hwo alive they are.

What are the names of "abma" "jk" "quant" "Poland"?

that would be @[ag]abma @[lcc]jk @[lcc]quantum[0k] @rafal[zk]

@[ag]abma and @[lcc]jk are Spring engine devs, they very rarely play ZK and usually only for engine bugtesting.
@[lcc]jk is probably the most competent in Spring-Lua-stuff person here. He also made the Chili UI framework.

@[lcc]quantum[0k] is one of the original devs of Complete Annihilation (ZK predecessor), but unfortunately he is inactive these days.

I know Lua and play. But if you want me to use that for anything you're going to have to come to my house and watch my kids.

@Rafal[ZK] PLrankAdminSprung thanks they may not play ZK much, but they are alive enough to include onto the list.
RUrankAdminikinz said "There are a lot of programmers playing zk" but so far that's proving to be false.
