Wouldn't return fire be better replaced with fire at will unless cloaked?

I suggest replacing it with "fire at will unless cloaked". This is pretty much what I've tried to use return fire for.

In my entire time playing ZK, I've never found another use for it.

Has anyone found a use for return fire that isn't just stopping cloaked units from firing?

Units can already automatically hold fire when they are areacloaked (unsure if by default though).

Ultimately, Return Fire is planned to be replaced by Smart Fire, which would incorporate things like:
  • OKP
  • not shooting when area-cloaked
  • Sniper not shooting at radar dots
  • Felon not shooting at closed razors
  • Screamer/Hacksaw not wasting ammo on bait
  • etc

I agree to psaniac's suggestion but the general idea of the Smart Fire kinda makes a bunch of tactics invalid like placing razors at the front of defenses, making gnats or other cheap air units charge 1 by 1 to waste screamer ammo and divert Hacksaw attention while the main air forces attack and etc. And that is something to be unwanted imo
