Hi all,

My name is Qrow (some of you may know me from many years ago as Parzival, the man behind the failed train factory idea) and I currently run a tournament series called Emergency (EMR) that runs weekly tournament for another game, Super Smash Bros Ultimate. That being said, we are currently looking for opportunities to branch out and find other games to host weekly tournaments for. We have always made our tournaments free, and as of late we are awarding money to the top participants (usually top 2 players).

You can find our tournaments at smash.gg if you want examples of how we run things, just search for EMERGENCY!. We are currently well into season 3 of online tournaments for SSBU.

That being said, I wanted to poll interest for weekly ZK tournaments. I am aware that montly tournaments are happening, but I would love to advertise this game to our other community members and host tournaments if I could find enough initial interest to make it happen.

Tournaments would be held on Sundays, at a time manageable for both EU and USA Players. (Think 12pm in USA, but Evening for EU players.)

Drop me a comment below, tell me if you're interested. If I see enough interest for these tournaments I will have our first one up and running within a week or two. Feel free to message me if you have any detailed questions or concerns as well on discord at さいか。#0152. (just copy paste)

Thank you for your time!

Hello again. A weekly tournament series sounds like a good thing for the game, if it works, and you should get some interest. I recall you ran into trouble trying to run a tournament a while ago, but it looks like you have gained experience running Emergency since then, so it's worth another shot.

The environment for tournaments is a lot better than it was three years ago. The active playerbase is about 6x larger, as measured by daily unique players in a multiplayer lobby, mostly due to the Steam release. The 1v1 matchmaker has become quite a bit more active over the past year or so and there are a few people making new maps for it.

There is no tournament schedule at the moment, but we've had about one per month if someone (mostly AUrankAdminAquanim) runs it. The November tournament had 32 players. You can take a look at how it ran here: http://zero-k.info/Forum/Thread/32437

As a player, 19:00 UTC is the earliest start time that I'm likely to participate in. I imagine it is the same for other Australian players. Saturday rather than Sunday is also better, since a Sunday tournament takes place on a Monday morning. I'd also imagine that Europeans are more amendable to staying up a bit late to finish a tournament on Saturday rather than Sunday.

Not to discount anything GoogleFrog said, but the proposed time would work for me as I'm a weirdo who has mondays off and is almost always busy sundays. :)

Thank you all for your responses!

As for the time, I will look into trying to hold it Saturday (although, that is the date which we hold our SSBU weeklies, so I will have to figure that out scheduling wise)

Stay tuned for updates!

also, nice to see you as well DErankkatastrophe
