How do you deal with the porc in mid?

Therxx suggested an impaler or maybe 2 to shell the porc and then, I presume, move in with scorcher.

Is this a good idea? I do feel like I didn't have enough scorchers to kill off the Bulkheads after the first breakthrough.

Maybe keeping the comm in mid would have been helpful too since at the very least its immediate reclaim + porc.

The idea of a facswitch to cloak or jump so I can push with ronin/moderator also makes some sense, since unlike air I keep the fac for a longer time and I have an endgame unit. I would keep the ripper and scorcher as imo they are the best raider/riot, but ronin push definitely would be interesting to see.

what "endgame-unit" you expect to get from cloaky-factory?

Phantom spam, although bulkheads barely survive a shot

I don't think the porc was the problem, the problem was I had more metal income and so could waste it on the porc

Also, more metal in porc means less mobile army, which means you can maneuver around the porc and raid

Raiding only stalls when someone has a good position on the map.

There is no chance I could have used the fencer breakout to win, while you could just porc all the way into my base, supported by Bulkhead.

You keep reclaim in the centre, I cannot because the workers will get killled

I permanently lose ground if I lose units; you can retreat back to your porc, which I could not deal with.

Holding positions presents another problem since the porc keeps me from rapidly reinforcing them, as I need to take a longer route.

Raiding gives an advantage or at least, helps equalize. But at the end of the day this advantage needs to be enough that I seize initiative and take control of the map. Thus, whatever way you cut it, this porc has to go down.

Seeing that Impaler two-shots a Bulkhead, and takes four to kill a Stinger, making 2 Impaler theoretically means I kill both Stingers within a minute, at minimum 40s as both need to fire twice, while killing at maximum 6 bulkheads at minute if the shots connect.

Alternatively just one impaler would stop the porc buildup in the first place so I could send Fencers and Scorcher through.

Considering that this is only 700M and a facswitch alone is 800M, along with being immediately buildable, maybe Impaler would have been a good choice here

One impaler should be enough. If you get two impalers you would be at serious risk with too small an army.

Stingers are specifically to counter fencers, so they are the wrong unit. Ravager or badger are also good vs stingers though.

Of course the porc in the middle is to make it hard for you to move units around, thats why I put it there! But at the quantity I built, you should have both a larger army, and cheaper counters. I think I built like 3-4 stingers, which is 1200-1600 value in stingers. Personally, I think I would have been much better served building a grizzly earlier, as that is a lot more painful to deal with than a handful of stingers.
