If I recall correctly there were a few problems with Planetwars.
1) There was some sort of way to crash a game resulting in a null result iirc. So you could be about to win the whole thing and have to redo an attack because the null result meant the defenders "won" the round.
2) There were privateer guys that would join faction fights and they were actually on a faction side. I had that happen to me when the highly rated privateer on our side said "I am about to do an amoral thing" and logged out leaving me and another turkey to get cornholed big time by the pros on the other team.
3) There were smurf accounts that I think were run by the opposing faction that would join a fight at the last second when you'd already agreed on a team for the planet. I had one of those where the guy began to build cerberus right off the bat meaning we died horribly. Or they would build noob shit like storages killing overdrive and your chances.
4) Games were horribly unbalanced. Now, this is half the fun of Planetwars but when its your fourth time in a row facing 2 purples and a blue with a bunch of noobs on your team it wears a bit thin. That said I remember some amazing games. I was on Randy's side one game when it was just the 2 of us facing down like four guys. I asked him if we should resign and he said simply "I don't think so". He proceeded to absolutely MAUL those four guys while I sat at home doing eco and housekeeping tasks. Epic shit.
5) Yeah, it would be cool to have PW back. I might actually be useful now.
