Today's update idea is:
- Add a repair bot that is proficient at dodging

Today's update idea is:
- Add a cheap factory that can only make one-three types of units, likely at a limited range and limited supply amount.

Today's serious update idea:
- Make the rank based on something objective, rather than relative. Add some challenging bots with different playstyles, and make the rank progress as the player defeats the bots (for the first time), rather than let the rating increase from beating higher leveled players over and over again.

Sun Tzu-inspired update:
- Every unit now uses stored energy to fire, stored metal to auto-repair. The unit runs out of energy only after 2-10 minutes, by default. Also, the energy & metal consumption is insignificant. To restore a unit's energy & metal, it needs to be either near a mine or in an energy grid, respectively.

- Dominated/resurrected/reclaimed units reveal portions of the map

- Wind affects fire-based weapons
Note: too complex.

New update idea I don't expect to be implemented:
- Unit's visual design complexity increases with unit cost

Bonus silly update idea:
- Caretakers have a grid range and can overdrive with energy reclaim.

New idea inspired by trains:
- Add a railway station (special) map. The ground is so low that it can be terraformed to allow for ship units, for cheap. Everything else is up to artist's decision.

i am implimenting trains soon maybe tomorrow along with everything can fly / hover

@ clive "The ground is so low that it can be terraformed to allow for ship units, for cheap"

you can raise water level already to effectivly do this unless i missunderstand.. cheaper units can be achieved via metal multiplyer although it aplies to all units. are these solutions?

Thanks for asking! I don't plan on lowering or raising the cost of units, I merely wanted the creation of water paths to be cheap and accessible on a map. So, ideally, it should be possible to link water "train tracks" (aka water paths) to any or most locations on the map. This is easy to do by merely raising the water level to a certain level, and then making land be shore-level, with the exception of obstacles, if the author decides to add any.

ok you can also set terraform cost multiplyer lower .. im not very good at modding yet shaman has far better skills maybe he can help =)

There's already the ability to make terraform cheap. But making terraform cheaper enables some nasty terraform cheese, so it's best to just make the ground low. This can also allow for the "train factory" to be "installed" without major modifications, letting it be seen in vanilla Zero-K.

That's why I advocate for this approach, rather than any modifications.

(Another problem with making terraform cheaper: Ships are more effective when they're on the same level as the target units. If the river turns out to be too low, powerful units like envoy will prove to be far less effective, ruining the whole premise of a powerful train factory)

units make negative dirt hills on death (aka holes). add an additional negative impulse (like singu) and voila, everything is grounded.

add a bomber (or modify licho), which has a bomb that has (mostly) impulse power. or NEGATIVE impulse power. throwing everything around but gives limited real damage. units only get (insane) collision damage and unit compositions are newly intermixed!

Combine this with a green map with couple of holes and we can have Pool-K!
