Automatic Map vote

Does anyone else find that the auto map vote tends to end up with the same maps over and over again. Sometimes the same map gets played 1 or 2 games later.

There are a LOT of maps for this game, why do we have such a narrow window into that choice?
Maybe the vote could be between 8 maps? Or make the images larger so we can actually see what they are / put the name of the map there (some of the map pictures are not really recognisable)

There is a thing called the map ladder. Every map vote is a 4-way FFA between maps, with the winner taking some of the elo of the losers. I suggested this as a neat bit of data to have, but then it was integrated into the choice selection itself, somehow. I don't know the details.
