As title states, the game should ask players to resign before they exit a game, ive seen and been some games where a vote resign doesnt work/pass and game get stalled because a player exited normally instead of resigning and since that player didnt resign before exiting, they would get all of the teams units and the game would continue until the other team was completely destroyed or a vote resign finally worked/passed.

I would also add that if you resign, you should permanently have your vote set to resign by default. Many games go on longer than they should because the people that resign often afk and so are not contributing to the resign vote despite having often pushed the game beyond salvaging by resigning early in the first place.

If vote is based on non-resigned players, then everyone with ping over 30 seconds (d/c'd) should auto-vote-resign on start of a resign vote as a game state action.

I think votes that affect people that play should be restricted to people that are currently playing and connected. As a player I am more annoyed that winnable games resign early than by the fact that I need to wait 15 minutes more for someone to see that they really lost.

Regarding the asking to resign before exit - wouldn't it be more natural to just consider only connected and not resigned players when the game is deciding "is there still a battle"? Probably now is something like "if there is a non-resigned player continue" it should be "if there is a non-resigned connected player continue".

I'm not sure that this isn't already the case. 1v1 gives you a chance to reconnect, with a button your opponent can press to give up. What do teams do? Someone test it.
