1. @ 0:33 - Tactics/Strategy Conflict: Initial deployment of Bolas not in line with strategic plan and allocation to prevent runbys. Bolas should have either been deployed defensively north to cover the con and prevent harassment with the com providing control center, OR deployed aggressively center with com as a backstop.

Net Loss: Enemy fortification of center, Bolas mission-killed.

2. @ ~1:20 - Positioning: Bolas sight range significantly wider than weapon range. Not deploying all the way north lets a scorcher get by along the map edge. Deploying further North could have prevented the runby by driving the scorcher south into friendly Mach56's kodachis, as well as prevented having to pull the con back.

Net loss: Significant delay to expansion. Helwor loses a con, a mex, and wind turbine, Mach56 loses a kodachi attempting to plug the breach. Net loss of 400+ metal.

3. @ 1:50 - Tactics: Passive com deployment mid allows Tarkin to set pace of engagements and fortify. More aggressive com activity and an earlier scalpel could have prevented this.

4. @ 2:20 - Allocation: Burying Mexes in this situation is inferior to walling them.

2:10 Strategic Note: At this point I have no coherent plan. I'd planned to have Helwor anchor my right flank, but he has a huge amount of map to sweep. I'm too far back to merge lines with Mach56 on my right. My allocation here was defense focused. I could have expanded south using the Bolas to augment LLTs to contain Tarkin and Hedkeaf's salient, or I could have gone for a blocking action and then swung around north with a bolas + 2x scalpel to kick over lasertowers and potentially create unforced errors from sauce who was both the weakest player on the enemy team, and the one covering the largest area.

Here, I am engaged across a very narrow front against both a metal and skill disparity- there really isn't anything to *do*.

5. @ 3:00 - Allocation: Instead of building what amounts to offensive porc, a caretaker here could have let me quickly repair from pokes, as well as clean up relcaim from duck kills.

6. @ 4:00 - Strategy/Tactics/Map Awareness: I would argue this breakthrough is partially my fault. I'm focusing on an incredibly narrow part of the front like it's teams all welcome. Mach56 is covering the entire top half of the map, Helwor is sustaining our economy, and I am fighting over one single mex. I haven't even captured the one to my south.

7. @ 4:00 - Allocation: I'm also excessing metal. Need to start building a caretaker at around +12 metal.

8. @ 4:55 - Scouting: Tarkin has one advantage here- he has a sparrow, I don't. There is an opening here for me to exploit, but I don't see it.

9. @ 4:55 - Economy: Also the fact that Helwor had to send a con to capture that is absolutely ridiculous.

5:50 Strategic Note: Here I think I'm starting to see the costs from my indecisiveness mid. Mach56 has been gradually losing ground north, Helwor has been facing an intermittent 2v1 South, and I am passive. As Kingstad said literally yesterday; when in doubt- be bold.

8:00 Strategic Note: One idea that pops up a lot is, essentially, "always be escalating". Here, we can see that south has escalated with a Griz. Their shield ball continues to grow. I have been on the same basic composition for the whole game. I go for halberds here, which is kind of silly when I already have a good composition to protect a lance.

Worse, I don't even build a lance until Helwor pings me to. I should be naturally looking for gaps and opportunities to either expand, exploit, harass, or escalate.

11:00 Situation has deteriorated past the point of meaningful analysis. Terminating review.

Feedback from Buckymancer on discord-

Anyway, summary for the whole replay.

Don't skimp on early E for personal use in Palladium particularly if you're below mid rating for your team and/or are running a repair-dependent strat.

Picking off Lotus with Scalpels is one such strat, but very good for pressure.

You don't seem to be familiar with the ins and outs of the many viable early-midgame hover comps; I guess this comes with experience, but here you had ample reason to escalate (partly or entirely) off Bolas and into Mace several minutes before you did make your first Mace, and you weren't really using Bolas's strategic mobility when it counted.

When you get an advantage from pressure, consolidate forward and keep pressuring because this either delays your opponents' escalation or grabs your team a strategic advantage.

If you vacate your section of the front, keep the vulnerability you just made in your mind until it's addressed!

If there's a threat on the board your current army can't handle, instead of fixating on that, you can move your army somewhere else and get stuff done there.

Halberds are very good against a Felon ball but they do need some kind of help cleaning up because they're not a fully functional monocomp.
