New Patch Broke My Save

I saved my campaign mission and quit, and then it updated to the new version. When I went to play it an hour or so later, it crashes whenever I try to load. I already submitted a but report, I just wish the game versions on Steam had the recent version in test or something so I could get back my few hours of gameplay.

That will be due to the engine update. I thought saves were supposed to launch old engine versions but that may not have been implemented. There is a way to run other engine version but it involves downloading the engine and using launch arguments.
  • You would first get 2025.06.25 by doing this https://zero-k.info/mediawiki/Engine_Testing
  • Then you would launch Zero-K.exe with " zkmenu:stable 2025.06.25". An easy way to do this is to make a shortcut and append the text to the target (no quotes).
