Does anyone use this option? It makes units useless for a long time and can't be made faster with builders (?), so I don't see the point...

Its not often used for non-commander units. Most of the time its used in chicken games to morph towers into more expensive towers. Sometimes morphs can give you access to a particular unit without having to build the factory.

I support removing morphing except for commander upgrading.

Except maybe kept as a mod option for the sake of Zero-K Tower Defense. (chicken)

Noooo! Must remove all morphs! ALL of them!!

It provides free buildpower, kapsi. And the new unit even keeps some of the morphed units expierience!

Of course at least I use it. Crabe -> dante is probably most used by me. Remove it would be lol. Then unit xp do absolutely nothing. Now u dont want some unit to die to upgrade it without any buildpower which is great.

The morphing of non-commanders is interesting, allthough i hardly see it being used.
Maybe make it a more prominant part of the game so that you have to micro more for XP. Downside could be that the victor of a battle gets an even bigger advantage then he allready has. Lots of testing should clear that up.

wolas, xp increases units reload speed, so it doesn't do nothing. I think it should do nothing!

Morphing really makes no sense in flat balance. You aren't morphing to get better units, just different units. The morphs are almost always arbitrary and cross-roles. Morph raider to get a riot. I just don't see any place for it in the game design, except as a random extra feature.

There are so many features already, the game feels like a large ball of random feature spam.

(+1 to xp doing nothing, one of us should probably just commit that already Skasi, it's a 2-character change)

I use it if makes a fast unit morph into a slow unit. For example, I often morph my lugers into tremors.

But imho, it's the kind of ignorable feature that ZK doesn't really need. All it gets you is some free buildpower and a higher-XP unit.

Although we're not really the ones to ask, are we? The question is whether newbs use it, as for a newb who hasn't unlocked all the facs, the morphs that cross factory boundries could be invaluable.

Morph ( except morphs > 2k metal ) should be slower !

Aegis / Aspis is ok - but you don't get metal back or any advantages on the reverse morph.

Sneaky Pete / Eraser - it don't be equal to the costs of Aegis / Aspis ( if you look at the efficiency factor ) - that's wrong.

Most other morphs have different models compared to the morphed versions - that looks bad.

Let recycle a living unit return 100% of the metal.

Remove individual experience and add a ingame experience for that unit blueprint ( front players get more advantages than this players who are sitting in the back and stack armies ).

Add all global experience to the com instead of units :D

Let morph reduce the global amount of buildpower.

Morphing is a valuable asset for light units. Take a glaive for example. Once behind enemy lines you do your desired damage and maybe you're left with one or two that are experienced. Take them back into seclusion, and morph into scythe or warrior. Come back into undefended territory and destroy Eco. That in my experience is the most apt use of morphing. The ability to get heavier units behind the front line.

I would second a change to making unit blueprints more effective based on use, but that would change the balance of the game drastically for longer games. You could, in theory, spam light units all game. A raider with tank like armor or fire power would be very unbalanced. You could put a cap on the blueprint.

Making all experience go to the com... it would build to quickly and would be a bitch to code to make different rates of experience for each unit. More over, what use would all that xp be?

Morphing is way too cool how you even think of removing it. And actually many ppl are using. By mirphing you can get unit which isint in factory. So it is definitly worth not to let your unit to die and get some sort of better. Like from crappy and shitty jethro to have jumpy bot aa. And so on and so on...

Then your argument for morph is that the game is imbalanced.

Morph cost is difference in costs, so you still pay the full price for whatever you morph. If it is really that valuable to morph, then either the jethro is under-power or the aa-bot is overpowered.

It is one thing if the game balances was designed for morphing to be useful, but it simply isn't. It was designed with no morphing in mind. Anywhere morph is useful is accidental. So either imho remove morph, or revamp the whole system into something meaningful.

Luckywaldo thats ridiculous thinkings. Thats same thing as saying if same cost fleas cant kill llt but glaives can that means glaive is op isint it?

Anyway if you cant found use it is your problem for me it is really useful.

Morphing need to be rethought or removed for non-commanders. Either you should be able to get unique units by morphing or it should be removed.

Also you should the way it work with ep and ranks is strange. When you can morph, you should just get a blinking icon.

I'd remove it from the "all unlocked" mode, but otherwise I'd re-work it into a way to let players access units outside of their buildable list. Focus on morphs being used to get you units you have to buy as unlocks, to give newbs a "sneak preview" of the better labs.

In fact, I'd skip the micro involved. I'd make it a straight free unit, but way more expensive in terms of experience costs. Basically, when you get, say 50XP for units that are collectively the "predecessor" to unit Y, you get one appearing free on the same spot as the last unit X to make the kill.

"Yay, you're so good with Slashers that you got a free Banisher!"

Morph for non coms, is really cool at first, but i think it shoul be removed, and use the xp system to make your units better, for example a crabe with 7xp can defeat a crabe with no xp and live with about 1/4 hp? (only making if fire faster, or giving it a little bit of hp?)

So how many want this removed? I would like it removed as it doesn't make sense currently and I don't think it can make sense. In almost all cases there is no simple progression in power from unit to unit. So most morphs make the unit a bit more expensive and give it a completely different role.
