Guess you guys would be interested to flow this to see why well (or not) them can do... and have some example/experiment in future if you try something similar.

Im still waiting for crowdfunding campaing on indieGoGo or Steam Greenlight but this year wasnt too good.

First 0K need:
- To have new engine, to be trully multiplatform. (Terrible trouble with 91 on Linux).
- A little nicer lobby, 0K lobby is now working very good but its still pretty ugly, NOTA Lobby 4 is great looking Lobby but it closed source :(
- Also started planetwars could help so people could see that this game is living.

Licho will certainly name some other things to achieve before such campaign.

100 dollars is not that much, im sure one day and one post on website would be enough to collect.

But we are still missing awesome trailer, or at least the old one in HD.

The flexible funding perk of that campaign will allow them to gain any money raised even if campaign "fails". I'll be watching how they'd put it to use, the engine is borderline interesting.

By extension, "flexible funding campaign" for ZK could be quite useful eventually.

I think that this is the no.1 thing that would improve ZK. There would be no more ridiculous "oh, sorry for just breaking the biggest game in all of spring" moments and no more random bugs springing up in new engine releases. How hard can it be to get some volunteer c++ programmers?

A nicer lobby would be good, but I dont think it is high priority because the current one s entirely functional, especially since @KingRaptor made some nice new buttons for it.

Getting on steam would be a huge milestone. I don't think it would succeed if we do not have more publicity than now. I don't think it would be that hard to get on some of the bigger linux info sites (OMG! Ubuntu etc).

Volunteer, or volunteer to be paid from kickstarter funds? Completely different case, you see.

For example of "just volunteer", check how much engine developers are there right now in Spring.

Nice buttons dont make nice and ergonomical lobby.

You mean ZKL is way cooler because it has images for maps, shows you player numbers visually, has nice big icons for battles rather than a list full of text?

IS that seriously what Notalobby looks like? It's awful. I mean our lobby is a total mismash of icons like swords and shiny metal boundry boxes and technogadgets and little people and all, but notalobby looks like a spreadsheet program. I mean no dispute that ZKL looks bad, and maybe we could use less 'windows default' and 'clipartgasm' and more of their sleek grey stuff, but it's just a wall of text...

Apperence is individual thing, i like NOTA Lobby more, you should try it before judging.

Don't forget blobby! I have used my favorite design decisions from various lobbies.

I prefer the original table with columns for the battle list over zklobby's "capsules" because while it's innovative, it takes more space than it needs to and sorts horizontally with wrapping which makes it more difficult to scan.

When it comes to the players in the battle, zklobby got it right. The springlobby table (no different from the battle list) is a silly way to display the teams.

The battleroom is also permanently the focus so it's always visible, as I also implemented in zklobby (not sure if it's still there? it was nicknamed picochat).

Blobby Love -

The web-lobby is very ergonomic.

Also, it's cross-platform, and, frankly, it's just creative. (Look, you can run our lobby in a browser!)

Still, the fact that the game is going to be run natively means that there will only be 3 native versions of the game, which does make the cross-platform advantages of a browser-lobby less useful, but come now. It runs in a browser.




I will put in a brief +1 for the general idea of the "battle bubbles," even though they are kludgy, and hard to scan.


Funding -

There's another benefit from funding:

It would mean more focus.

I might be speaking for myself, but if I'm getting paid for something, I don't mind as much if it's not a "fun" task, especially if it's something I can do quickly.
