The Licho.. it has massive damage AND good AoE. When competently used it is almost impossible to stop without fighters/air superiority. I think this is one of the most powerful units in the game right now, and it makes other bombers looks pants. It can and often does make cost with a single bomb.

I think this is actually pretty overpowered, somthing ever more apparent now that shadows are underpowered. It has golly/sumo syndrome - anti-swarm AND anti-heavy.

lol..after Stilleto comes LICHO...........NERF ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

It only works as anti-heavy when you cluster your heavy units together. If licho was removed too, I wouldn't use planes fac ever again...

Obviously someone has never used a licho before.

its good as it is. it is not invincible, but requires a decent amount of AA to stop it. because it forces either having an planes player or massive investments in static AA, maybe the pricetag is too low. you get a high mobility, high alpha weapon with nice HP etc.

suggestion: after bomb dropped, nerf the return-to-reload-pad speed, so the likelyness of repetition is smaller. that way there would maybe less complaints about licho being OP. (but i dont like this suggestion -.-)

[lolz]
licho has too much alpha to show its unique negeative impulse powa.
it could be so much better if units do not insta die on missle impact but are thrown around and die on ground impact! pure awesomeness! (thats what quake missle is missing)

5 avengers licho dies.2 newtons licho is captured.2 hacksaws licho dies.1 Chainsaw licho dies.1 screamer with 2 shots kills licho and i remind that kills all air fleet fast with extra missiles.

It was simple for Ivory to say :"Just nerf licho cause i dont use it and i dont play planes and i hate it when som1 makes it and uses it against me" and we would apreciate the honesty.

Now you just need 2 hacksaws on every bit of your front line.

I'll support additional impulse for Quake any time of day.

or you could make plane factory and 1 avenger and makes the cost better after 4 more avenger investment:)?Epic right?

Your message fails to parse.

I'll agree that chainsaw and mobiles work (tangentially). My viewpoint on how to stop licho was always "one of three":

1) You can build a Screamer (or chainsaw + mobiles for same cost)
2) You can engage using your own air and ground support. Just "5 avengers" won't work, because by the time lichos are fielded, he'll have backup and his own ground AA.
3) You can try to weather the damage and win, or resign. Licho stops being problem as game ends.

Nothing else - and this includes most things ROrankForever outlined, like double newton or double hacksaw - works against a competent adversary, because they'll just avoid your danger zone unless you get lucky, or bait it.

I used to go air every game (when I first climbed into the #10 ladder) and I understand the game mechanics fine. I tried everything to exhaustion before settling into light veh/cloaky/jumpies for most games, which I use because I enjoy aggression and raiding. I am also unbiased towards the unit, since my elo is neither a product of whoring the unit, nor are my favorite facs cloaky/light veh esp vunerable to it. I raise the issue because I think - and have always thought - that the unit is poorly balanced for the reasons outlined.

The only effective counter is having air superiority already. All the ground-based counters require a much larger resource investment than the cost of the licho, and many of them rely on the licho player making a stupid mistake (competent players will not oblige you). Heavy units that are harder to counter than to use are not good for unit diversity and are frustrating for players to face. The unit is also effective vs both heavies and swarms, and can easily make cost in 1-3 passes in a larger game.

Forever: you are not being objective and argue like a child

Stiletto tangent: I agree current Stiletto is not very useful and needs love

so you only use the factory for the licho.

Hacksaw costs 400 EErankAdminAnarchid from what i remember, and 2 hacksaws are 800 so you can built a factory and 1 avenger, that is mobile and counters his planes well. You can actually wait for 5 avenger surprize attack and then kill licho. Most of the licho rushes are made when no1 else goes planes and there is just 1 in air.

We are not talking about licho rushes here.

So what do you suggest as a nerf? Slow it down? Make it into a stun-unit so it can't work solo (now that the stiletto is a disabler)? Give it a shield so repairing it is more of a matter of waiting for the shield to recharge, meaning a potentially longer turn-around? Drop its weight so it's more vulnerable to hacksaws?

licho is definitely op in 1v1 games, as it forces the enemy to go air and can easily instagib most ground aa

Licho suffers from the same problems as the Stiletto did (does? haven't tried them for a while). But, at least, they cost 2K metal and it's AoE isn't two light years wide which makes them kinda OK. Same rules apply still. Using big bombers for defense and play passively makes attacking hard. Resulting in static game play.

well. there is a gap between licho and krow. a very heavy, very slow bomber, like the suppreme commander forged alliances experimental bomber (search youtube if you dont know it). what about introducing this unit or modifying licho to be like this (HP, speed and firepower for a corresponding cost)
