We get teamed up with 3 lv0-1 nubs and ofc lose. Why can they even play pw? lv5 was minimum. They are ruining the balance and making us losing potential ip's and planets.

Idea: newbies are allowed to play as the local militia of the planet's citizens, particularly as neutral given they do not exceed some given size. The local militia is supposed to be less skilled/effective than the main army's war machines, right?

Nubs fix balance when Godde is there, Rick.

If they play bad, teach them. Eh? Eh? An idea?

Well PW is just shit. No only noobs can mess up games, balancing is shit, and also games for planet are not well done. Clans doesn't mean anything.
When i logged recently i saw i lost like 3 planets. I wondered wtf? It came out that it was some noob from my faction (not even from my clan) logged in (as only one from faction) and in game, and defending my planets. Not saying that it could be even account made by enemy faction, losing on purpose, when no enemy faction is online.
I don't know what's the aim of developers here, but this is not competetive at all, too random, and easly to abuse. I already lost interest in playing this, as it stoped bringing fun for me, and now i'm no wonder why this game have such little of attention.

Skasi problem is newbies dont listen 9 out of 10 times. They shouldnt be allowed to play pw. I never played pw before i had a reasonable amount of games played. At very low levels elo balance doesnt work which leads to ridiculously unbalanced games.

Its not like they will continue playing after they ruined 1 pw game and get insulted etc by other ppl.

Nah, nubs listen 1 out of 3 times. Another 1 out of 3 doesn't understand English and another 1 out of 3 ignores you. So when you had three nubs, one of 'em listens to you; Just plop two helpful markers in their bases to find out which one!

oh wow elite players complaining about newbies. This way the new players will never come to play the mod if they are not welcome. just get over it already, the problem is for all factions. but you are right they shouldnt be able to play PW, i sometimes play PW and am not involved in the metagame at all. Its just most of the time there is no other worthwile zeroK server to play on since everyone flocks to the most populated server.

I think with PW is everything OK simply playerbase is not ready for PW :/

No like they are motivated to play another game after they made someone lose a planet in pw. Ppl tend to be touchy about that.

iMassacre intentionally pisses off every faction, complains about PW experience

The major problem is not large enough of a playerbase. With a larger playerbase hosts will be split up by elo, so you don't have games with such radically differences in player skill level.

For the moment, you just need to play with some detachment. No point in getting worked up over newbies, if anything having newbies on your team is like extra weights on the barbell. In the long run it will make you stronger, providing it doesn't break you first.

I agree waldo7 right now at least half your team is negative help. Game often depend on starting location of good players. If your facing only noobs you can quickly crush them and win.

Yep so just go at it lightheartedly, so what if you make no 'progress' on the map.

If you're going down that path why not just votekick them and take their stuff? It's less effort to implement.

Anyway there are total any level and a new player can be fine if they take advice.

Only thing that would solve "newbie problem" is more newbies so be nice to them. Votekick or any other disadvantages will make less newbies and soon you will be playing war with your balls alone.

Just lv5 req would be enough. Then elo balance should work and they have learned a little bit about how to play zero k.

Its not like you attract more ppl by having unbalanced games...

No Licho. Newbies always spawn in rear next to three metal spots, so good players have to spawn at front and life off one or two metal spots (on average maps) and try to beat the other team.

A better solution would be allowing high elo players to place spawn positions for their team; a "command" system that gives good players control over weak players units and other things, similar to military ranks.

If I was a newbie I'd be very happy about something like this. Whenever I play a new game and don't know what to do I ask experienced players for help and for a way to be less of a deciding factor (eg by picking cheap/small/supportive classes/jobs/spaceships/units, depending on the game I play).
