I'm considering joining the 0k team
for the purpose of reporting bugs and other problems, new ideas(like slow missile), and general admin purposes

There is only one way to join the dev team - devving! :-)
Sadly, supplying ideas or admining on autohosts (which isnt needed imo) is not considered development, anyonce can do it using forums or google code :-)
There are some non-coding tasks to do though - making single player missions, making promotional or tutorial videos etc.

Making chickens how? It is much more useful to commit to the cental repository when making chicken mods. As for other help a general PR/advertising person would be good, someone to make moddb posts and text other places if they need to.
