Would like to host a commander battle only tournament

So it's kind of like the old Dota Zero-k, where you morph commanders, kill enemy creatures that have those pathways and get metal over and over again.

The purpose of this tourney is to provide additional fun for the newbies that like commanders and like the idea of one unit micro in a game.

After each tourney if admin community agrees commanders will be balanced properly so each chassis will have a decent chance to fight against other commanders chassis.

Who can help me up to bring back the old Dota ?
For this tourney I suggest the map to be Throne Acidic: http://zero-k.info/Maps/Detail/24251
Each ffa spot will spawn creeps that will have a path where they will attack 2-3 different sides. Each spot has 3 turrets that will defend that area. (last turret used in dota was called Sunlance).

Turrets can be morphed into ddm, annihilator, behemoth (depending on the player's needs). Players will also be able to upgrade main base to provide energy from fusion so you can power up your defence machines shields and stuff. But more stuff il discuss when I find a way to remake the old dota :D

Are you talking rebalancing commanders for all of ZK as a result of this feedback, or just for zkdota?

Zero-k Dota initially and if admin community wants the normal zero-k to.
I so hate it now that i have no coding skills at all. Would have been starting to work on the map right now.

No, it's all in English! If you know English you are more than half the way there. I'm serious.
Plus you do hate that you have no coding skills, so you are much more motivated - even enough to create a forum thread; I am only mildly annoyed that I do not speak Romanian. Still I already found a way to change that. "sprezece" is the most evil way of counting 11 to 19 I have ever heard of, with the Romanian 15 being the most evil number of all. RIP my tongue.

Special maps/modes usually need to be set up in special way.
(For example DOTA is a game for *2* teams that only works on *this one* map.)
Without help from lobby/autohost/engine there is no good way.

Uuuh no. ZKdota worked on multiple maps and had 3-way games as well.

Does not matter if one map or a few more maps, question is how to prevent players from trying to play on maps/in setups that do not work.

DErank[2up]knorke From what I understand ROrankForever never wanted there to be fixed, premade bases. Instead commanders would be able to build eco and porc, then kill random units (neutrals? or do they spawn for players? I cant say) to get reclaim and morph their comm. Even if there was a starting base, then structures could just be placed in a way similar to how Planetwars structures are placed, except inside the starting boxes instead. That way you wouldn't need to prepare any specific maps and the featured map pool might suffice.

Of course thats only true if I understood Forever correct. I'm not sure how he'd handle sea maps, etc.
