its fair to downvote but no explanation...

literally nobody builds them as combat turrets... they are used as gimick unit throwers
why is it so bad that it should have some ability to survive a bit.. right now its countered cheaper then lotus

i don´t think any kind of static or gimmick should be buffed anymore, thats why i disagreed. sorry.

hmm but a health buff would buff its static use only.. and its not used as a static because its too shit as one.. while its gimic use would remain unbuffed

The only buff I would consider giving Newton would be the ability to shoot through the ground. Why? Gravity is supposed to work through the ground, and it would be a valid excuse to buff quake and other anti-terraform weapons.

ohh nooo! if it could shoot through ground it would have a huge amount of effective health and many of them in a square would make death pillars that pull all units to death on impact with pillar walls

just a double health buff and they would be a feasible front-line addition but still weak to unit impacts and you can still shoot at them

balanced by the lack of its own actual firepower

even with 2x health i may never make them over a stinger but at least ill be tempted sometimes

True, but they also have to buy the terraform.

Can someone give me examples of what is considered an exploit in the game? Would that be things like hiding buildings behind mountains, or burying them, or raising walls around them?

none of what you listed would be an exploit.
to quote AUrankAdminGoogleFrog:

"Zero-K would not be Zero-K without creative use of physics weapons so only the most broken aspects of the mechanics were patched. The real feature of this release is that players are again free to experiment without constraint. At this point, every trick or tactic that is possible within the game mechanics is allowed. Have fun!

(Note that using mechanics to troll is neither a 'trick' or 'tactic'.)"

Faraday may be a bit too good against bombers. Bombing defenses with Faradays in them requires a lot of bombers and a good spread. Here is some of the attributes that make Faraday good against particular unit classes.
  • Raider: Low rate of fire.
  • Assaults: High DPS.
  • Bombers: High burst damage.
  • Artillery: Armour mode, high health.

The most sensitive part of Faraday balance is its stun uptime, which is currently 77%. This is determined by its stun time (2 seconds) and its reload time (2.6 seconds). The unit has always been a bit vestigial as it doesn't fit in the standard turret weight progression. It is also weird to have a turret that appears to be designed to counter assaults and artillery, when these units are supposed to counter porc. It has always had some use as a safety net for matchups with shieldbots.

Two years ago we realised that Stardust cost more than Faraday and so the build menu was in the wrong order. I did not want to change the build menu, and Faraday was a bit bad, so this was done instead:
  • Cost 200 -> 250.
  • Health 1000 -> 2200.
  • Damage 1000 -> 1200.
  • Reload time 2.8 -> 2.4 (later nerfed to 2.6).

This damage buff was perfect for the purpose of 1-shotting Ravens. To nerf it against bombers I would reduce its damage back to 1000.

Just my current opinion... Don't know what tune I'll be singing when or if I ever become purple, but while I'm red(-ish) I must agree with MXrankmoleculeman88: Leave Faraday alone. It seems to strike the right balance between being useless and OP and is worth building at just the right time for the right amount of resources.

yes ^ faraday is ok i feel as it does not kill things and does not replace other turrets..

is not the aim to make all units used?

why cant newton have a few hit-points googlefrog?
mr googlefrog why you hate quake and newton and imp

some ideas:

imp = emp own front-line / army 5 times then never make them .. pls can these only emp if enemy target in range?
newton needs a bit of hp and it will appear in games as non unit launchers
quake = needs slow damage and impulse so its got some utility and can help combat shield-balls and crabs
